Gone into administration, hmmmmmmm
News showed photos of city. It is a total mess. How the hell folks let that happen is crazy. I'm ashamed of the administration of Detroit.

Highest crime rate in the USA, killings etc, Ok many will blame the government, but the residents have to take a portion of the blame, surely.
There is no such think as a filthy house just the people who live in it, cars are no danger, it's the driver, and so on.

JR1. We don't have to single out examples and piss people off. This is world-wide and reflects an attitude of the people of ' I don't have to clean up my house, the government will ' and ' Why work, I can complain and bitch about it and blame everyone else while I try for more money'

I totally agree with you, it is world wide and with unstoppable births in 3rd world countries, spiralling out of control debts etc I dread to look into the future

Many a true word spoken in jest
Maybe in years gone by, if the Mayors and elected officials of Detroit knew their failure to act would result in the city going bankrupt and their pension payments being terminated or reduced, they would have done things differently. Strong business and governmental leadership saved Pittsburg and Cleveland from a similar fate.
The CEO of General Motors laid a good part of the blame on GM's doorstep. He pointed out that the decline of Detroit coincided with the decline of the auto industry, and the decline of GM in particular. Makes sense.
If the city of Detroit is going bust, how the hell do they afford their professional (over the top expensive) sports teams

What do you mean IF, check the financial news
The sports teams are supported by the suburb residents. The city is mainly black. Look at the people in attendance of hockey and football.
