I'm just curious to know how many of the folks here use any versions of Photoshop, CS2,3,4, or 5?

I've been using Photoshop since version 2. Now have CS4 with CS5 "in the mail".

However, I pretty much suck at using PS -- I'm a noob, use only limited features. When the days stretch out to 36 hours maybe I'll have time to devote more to learning PS.

I'm using CS4 and don't think I'll update until CS6 comes out. Arnold

I've been using Photoshop since version 4.0, I remember being insanely confused and entirely amazed by adjustment layers! (yes I am a dork)

Right now I use both CS3 and CS5.5

I'm using CS5, curious why you use CS3 and 5.5?

I use CS5, but I also still use PSE9 for somethings, Just haven't figure out yet how to do them on CS5.

Hey Rachel, can you give me an example of something you do in PSE9 that you have trouble doing in CS5?

Two reasons actually!
The most important reason is client compatibility. If I have to create assets and the client doesn't have the latest 5.5 it can create some big problems on site.
And the second reason is that with some of the heavier pieces, CS3 runs faster on my system. It isin't as processor heavy as 5.5. I don't have to run 64bit all the time, so I choose the quickest of two evils so I can get back out and shoot.
For quick touches, CS3 works for me.

Mostly client reasons.

Yeah, I like to put together a photo slideshow to e-mail out to my friends after I've come back from a trip. I know how to do it on PSE, just can't do it on CS5.

Also, having difficulty with the Text on CS5, I want to shadow box some of the text and I can't seem to find the same ones on CS5. CS5 has a lot of text option, but, not the same ones(or so it seems to me) that PSE9 has.

So I do a canvas in CS5, then send it to PSE9 to do the texting with the shadow boxes and highlights.

I need to just look it up and see if I can find out how to do it on line.

It's a poster I'm trying to make for work. Not something I usually do in CS5. Which may be why I'm having so much of a problem.

For your slide shows using CS5 use the Output option from Bridge. You can do a PDF or web based. It's kind of limited in your options but if you just want to send stuff to your friends it works okay. Have you heard of a program by Photodex.com? They just came out with the web version and it looks interesting. I am using the Proshow Producer at the moment. http://web.photodex.com/
