No they broke into my house last night and stole it off my hard drive.

A penumbral eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the EarthÂ’s penumbra. The penumbra causes a subtle darkening of the Moon's surface. This is what you photographed last night early in the evening it was over by 9:30 pm. Your settings were still off, had you known it was going to be a penumbral eclipse, you could have adjusted for that. It was behind the trees here so I couldn't get it.

Be all that as it may, my settings were not off.

Gator, then you knew it was a penumbral eclipse all along, I should have expected that. Not many would have known that. My mistake, but normally this type of eclipse is more of the brown shades. Thank you for correcting me.

We are supposed to have a Super Moon this weekend. This is when the moon is closest to the earth. I live on the beach and would like some help on settings to capture some good shots of the moon. Also hope to get some of the moon and the reflection over the ocean.
Thanks

fyi; AKA, Mid-Spring moon, Flower moon, Milk moon, Corn Planting moon, Corn moon and Hare's moon. It is a full moon, tomorrows (5/26) will be a waning gibbous moon.
Good luck to all who will have a chance to see it.

This was taken with my SC40 HS hand held "P" mode. I had just obtained the camera used on eBay and was experimenting. I was surprised that it came out as sharp as it did.

My only point earlier was that I set my exposure and adjusted the WB according to the appearance of the sky and moon for only a brief time just minutes after sunset.
This is at the beach where the lighting conditions at those times can often be unique.
For those that were nearby as I was taking the photos, they all remarked about the colors and how the scene looked for those moments. It didn't last long.

I'm not sure if it's a Waxing Gibbous or full moon tonight but I took this pic by the beach here.

Nice colors, but lacks clarity. Still a keeper though. IMHO

Maybe the scene has been captured exactly as it was.
