We discovered a Lady Slipper growing in our yard today, which is pretty cool considering they are rare and endangered. Since it is illegal to pick them, I took pics instead
I played around with editing them a bit - your critiques and comments are appreciated!
Lady Slipper f/2.8, 1/800, ISO 200, minimal tweaking in Aperture
F2.8, cross processed in Color Effects Pro
3 exposures stacked in HDR Effects Pro
And a B & W for good measure
Beautifully done
B & W for me, main reason is the detail in the leaves at the back
of the flower. Lovely classy. J

kerfree, I like all them very nice pp work
When I was a little kid, I brought one home for my mom. Boy, did I get in trouble. Beautiful flower and great photos. Big fan of the first photo. Wish they were rare enough to have stopped the new construction in my old neighborhood. Evidently it is OK to bulldoze them but not to pick them. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful pics kerfree...
Ron.
why would it be "illegal" to pick them in your own yard???
What an unusual flower, I have never seen this before. Love what you did, great effect.

Tramsey - thank you so much for the thumbs up😄
Beautiful shots, Kerry. I favor the HDR version, but like them all. Recall seeing them as a kid in the midwest, but never once since.
Very, very lovely photos. I remember a few from childhood days in Maine.
