Yes, we have a photo contest once every month, the third Wednesday of each month. Each month is a new theme. The theme for December's contest is "Wheels". The only qualifications are that "Photoshop"ing is NOT allowed, and the photo must contain at least one wheel of some kind, any kind of wheel(s), anywhere in the photograph, using your wildest bestest imagination on how to compose the photo.

However, that being said, I don't know if I can cope with what I'm afraid will be a HUGE influx of entries from loyal UHH members--IF we do this again. This contest just ended taxed me severely right there at the end with 27 photos to have to print out and get to the contest. It's a super lot of fun, but I'm thinking we should use the UHH's new "photo contest" feature they said they were putting into place this week. (Do you know if it is up and running yet?) What do you think? Do you think we should use UHH's Photo contest format with the theme being "Wheels"? That way everybody on UHH can vote for their favorite. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Let me know.

Tilde, if you happen to see TrachG on line somewhere, please ask her to come to this thread and explain the story behind her first-place photo. All I can remember is that it is a very touching story, and truly a Feeling of Warmth between that horse and the girl in the wheelchair.

I honestly think that would be a great idea. One it will save you tons of toner cost and time from printing. I like the Idea all around... Good thinking! I was wondering how long you would take this on do to the cost it was going to bring to you. I know Laser printers last a lot longer than ink but those toners can get expensive a well...

Yes, Jwilliams, I think so too. I'm trying to find out if UHH's Adim has got it up and running yet. I inquired about a week ago and the responded that they thought they were just about ready. Keep in touch, I'm usually to be found on "Down On The Farm"

Thanx for all your effort gizzy. I wonder if you know of your club's topics soon enough before where you could put it up here for 2 weeks, THEN pick just 'winners' 1,2 and 3 and then you would only have to print 3 and take to your club. It would save you time and paper/ink costs as you would only be transporting 3 pics..]
neway, just a thot.

If I could figure out how to make that work, it sounds like a good idea. Our theme for next month's contest is "Wheels" Photos must contain a wheel, or wheels of some kind, use your imagination. I don't care for UHH's new "photo contest" format, because it allows unlimited entries, and there are simply too many to manage and vote on. Not really sure how to make this work. Still thinking.

When you set up a contest there's an option called "Allow multiple photos per user". You can choose to allow only one entry per user if you like.

Hey! Thanks a lot, 3Dean. I can see those gears working overtime in that poor befuddled head of yours. I'll go see about setting up that contest for our "Wheels" theme.

No Problem.

Don't forget to coordinate the contest with the forum Admin.

Gizzy Whicker's camera club, the CCCC, invites UHH members to participate in their December contest themed "Wheels" in which each photo should contain at least one wheel of any kind, type or description. No PhotoShop manipulations allowed other than normal adjustments. Use your wildest imagination. The possibilities are endless.
