Gizzy.whicker,

Can't wait to see who won the contest. I just wanted to say that I think it's great your photo club has taken that much interest in this site to have a separate contest for us. I missed this round but I will be on the lookout for the next time you do it.

Thank you, Tea8. That's mighty kind of you to think of us in such glowing terms. I'll do my best to have the winners posted on this string sometime tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone.

About three weeks ago the local camera club to which I belong extended an invitation to UHH members to join in our monthly photo context, this month is November 16th. The contest theme was "A Feeling Of Warmth", or "Warm Things". However, three week ago I failed to comprehend that New Topic strings are usually short-lived on the UHH. After about a week, with only seven entries, people moved on to more interesting and exciting topics. Quite understandable. However, in keeping to my word, I'm still going to submit these seven entries for judging by our panel of around 20 members. The results will be shown and posted in this string Thursday, November 17th. The following UHH members submitted entries: "Janice", "Kateyface", "mmlrml", "Silvertone", Tilde", "TracyG" and "Ugly Jake"

Take that one out please. I was looking for warm and didn't realize I put one of my husband's photos in. I would have a hard time taking one of me, but he wouldn't mine winning. Sorry.

Thank you so much for participating in our Cumberland County Camera Club "CCCC" (Illinois) photo contest. I'm sorry that some of the later entries didn't make it in time for yesterday afternoon's deadline.

27 photos were submitted by UHH members. All 27 of these 8x10 photos (printed with an HP color laser printer on mat photo paper) were numbered and displayed face-up in random order on two long tables butted end-to-end -- 16 feet of table covered with beautiful photos. The 20 members of our CCCC club then walked around and around the tables, trying to decide on which photo best fit the theme, and/or which one touched their hearts the most with "A Feeling Of Warmth" and then cast secret ballots. The photo receiving the most votes was awarded 1st place (see below) Two of the photos tied for second place. I dropped out of the voting to make our panel an odd number of judges, and then secret ballots were again taken. Only one vote separated 2nd from from 3rd place (10 to 9).

After the UHH photos were judged, our camera club judged our own photos in a similar manner, except that we are not allowed to vote for our own photo. The winners of this contest are posted below the winners submitted by you UGG members.

Thanks again for participating. It's been a lot of fun, and I hope you continue enjoying photography. Everyone is a winner when you capture time-slices of history with your camera.

Congradulation, Tracy G, and everyone else.
If you do it again, I'll make sure to summit an entry.

Thank you for taking the time to put something like this together, Gizzy. It was very considerate of you.

Congrats on all 3 of the UHH Winners #1 would be my favorite of all 3 though! It warmed my heart just to see the true meaning of this. Absolutely wonderful!!! As for the other two photographs, they do show warmth in color and in meaning, great job you 3!!!

Mr. Gizzy, I'm going to try for the next one. I was having some issues getting out do to being down and out in bed (sick). I know I wouldn't have won this one but if I would have been able to try, I would have! I'm back up and at'em though so let's see what's next!?

Tilde, if you happen to see TrachG on line somewhere, please ask her to come to this thread and explain the story behind her first-place photo. All I can remember is that it is a very touching story, and truly a Feeling of Warmth between that horse and the girl in the wheelchair.
