I know, I'm pretty glad he found it dead and not alive. Westies will engage. I've seen them kill a wood chuck, but I think a badger would win.

On a serious note, They are going to start culling Badgers in parts of Britain due to the claims that they are they are responsible of Bovine TB

At first I was horrified that you handled an animal with those teeth, then I read further and learned the animal was dead - and then I was MORE horrified that you picked it up! Kramer is one lucky pooch to have such a caring mom. (I did pick a couple of ticks off Trixie today, but they hadn't yet penetrated through her fur.)

Wow! It sure is toothy :-) I'm glad you were able to get it away without you or Kramer getting hurt.

I had to put this poor guy up in a tree, because Kramer thought he was bringing this new toy home. What is it? I didn't think it looked like a racoon. Maybe it is.

Yep...Winter's getting to me.

As regards badgers, rabies would be a bigger concern than allergy. Even with animal protein allergies, a novel protein (like the badger) requires time to sensitize to it, so highly unlikely Kramer would have had any reaction. Unless he has a history of eating badgers!

Are you a veterinarian? You sound like one. No, he hasn't had badger meat before....but that's an idea. I could trap badgers for him. We've been through venison, duck, elk, salmon ...you name it. The only thing that he can eat without having a severe skin break out including extreme hair loss is ZD Ultra. $90 a bag. I could have all the lenses I want by now if he didn't have such terrible allergies. But he's my buddy. He sits patiently by me and waits when I stop to take pictures, and he follows me everywhere.
