People are leery of Avators with rattles. Just kidding. I bet the deadline is near and they rush and forget to put what they should. Don't the rules say that if their is no posting theirs will be eliminated? So where are the administrators? Asleep at the wheel?

Point taken. And Kudos for the self depreciation. I sense you have a keen and well developed sense of humor and decorum in a public forum (rhyming unintended) and don't let comments bother you. Congrats and carrying on fellow photographer.

YAY for your post!

I really don't understand why folks don't post pictures about the subject of the contest or then don't write anything about the photo... sometimes not even a title.
What is the problem? The rules are clear and if they just want to post their own photos, they can do this in "create new topic".
Every contest has photos with either no connection to the subject, or they're untitled or there is no information.
I know this has been discussed before, but good grief folks...

Riverlass, you have a knack for revealing the salient point(s) of a problem. Oddly enough, I found your last line very profound. You referred to the problem, not directing the problem to either entrants, judges, voters or moderators, but to all of us. You are right; until we ALL take responsibility, we will reach no valid conclusions nor workable solutions. Good for you!

I don't envy your having to deal with the folks that can't read or follow directions but I guess it's the job of "management". I just had to blow off a little steam about it. Sorry. Won't happen again. :|

It bugs me too!

Would it be helpful if, in addition to our vote, we had a means to make brief remarks as to our reason for our choice? The remarks section could be short, and negative comments discouraged, e.g., instead of saying, "I liked #41, but didn't vote for it because I can't see how it ties to the theme", one state, "#32 got my vote because it's the best photo that incorporates all aspects of the theme, rules and procedures."
