I recently read a fiction novel the plot of which was based on such an attack... The book was written by a retired Navy Chief and I have no reason to believe that the book does not offer a realistic overview of the technology that we would employ should N. Korea actually fire its missiles towards us...
The book is actually a very good read, the author is Jeff Edwards and the book, "The Seventh Angel" can be purchased for Kindle for $1.99 at Amazon.

One can only imagine the technological advances in that weapon system in the intervening five years. Hitting a target traveling at seventeen thousand miles per hour amazes me!

Kinda, it is a good look at an Aegis class destroyer and its capabilities... well written book and if you are at all interested in our modern navy or in missile defense it is certainly worth the $1.99 and the time it takes to read... My brother was asking about missile defenses and I suggested he read it... a few days later he called to thank me for the suggestion, he very much enjoyed the book.
