Dear Friend Train Nut,

Nagy is always hateful and condescending. He lends nothing to any conversation.

Professor Murray Salby follows the evidence of global warming.
In contrast, AlGorians follow the money, demanding ever more hundreds of millions every year for "research," (wink, nudge) to keep on "proving" climate change which they already claim is undeniable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ROw_cDKwc0

Professor Salby provides graphs and analysis that blow away the liars' claims. Here are just two of his graphs:
IF anthropogenic carbon dioxide were as destructive as the liars in white coats claim it is, then why are the major sources of carbon dioxide in the rain forests of Africa and South America, rather than the industrial production areas of Ohio and Pennsylvania?

Do you really believe that 1.34 parts per million annual increase, the overwhelming majority of it naturally occurring, each year for the past 40 years is driving the climate? Utterly preposterous.

What is preposterous is your statement. Only a very limited intellect would make a statement like that. The amount of a substance that is needed for major change varies with the substance. Four hundred parts per million sounds like it is inconsequential, but the ice age levels were 180 parts per million. Seven thousand parts per million does not sound like much, either, to the ignorant, but it results in Precambrian temperatures half that of Venus. If you think an infinitesimal amount of something cannot have much effect, someone had better keep you away from hydrogen cyanide.

Yes, the preposterousness accrues to you, and so does the charge of adding nothing to the discussion. I am only summarizing the conclusions of established scientists. You are spouting factspeak bullshit that is driven by the need for profit.

"major sources of carbon dioxide in the rain forests of Africa and South America"

It is possible that you have written something other than what you thought you did. The major sources of carbon dioxide? Do you mean the major topographical reservoirs of carbon dioxide?

Let's see now… there is a mass conspiracy of all scientists to attract money to prove something that is not happening which Al Gore started. I suppose carbon dioxide is not a greenhouse gas, and even though the amounts spilled into the atmosphere via industrial activity corresponds with the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, somehow it has nothing to do with global warming. The 96% of the scientists who say global warming is man made and catastrophic, including Neil Degrase Tyson are all sell outs. The 4% whose research is funded by fossil fuel industry are telling the truth. You are a disgrace to the human cerebrum; the home erectus cerebrum too, come to think of it. Amazing for you to say I add nothing to a discussion while adding your usual vapid nonsense.

1. No, "all scientists" do NOT conspire to lie.

http://www.petitionproject.org/

2.Al Gore did not start it. You never get anything straight.

Margaret Mead started it in 1975. Mead was an anthropologist.

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/119942404/Environmental-Hoax-Birth

Al Gore flunked out of Vanderbilt divinity school, and earned a D I believe in his only science class. You must admire his hypocrisy in flying everywhere n his private jet, lecturing to everybody else to stop driving, cut back 80% on gasoline and electricity use.

1. Show your profound intellectualism and tell everyone what the most abundant greenhouse gas is.
2. Then tell everyone about the IR absorption spectra of
CO2 versus water.
3. try to explain away the 93% correlation coefficient between temperature, moisture, as leading indicators of carbon dioxide concentration.
5. WHY is the Keeling Curve presented so misleadingly, misleading everyone who views it?
6. Fnally, have you personally cut your travels, electricity and gasoline use 80%? If not, why are you such a hypocrite like Obama and Al Gore and all the "scientists" who fly and drive everywhere?

The hottest decade in the last century was the 1930's.
See graph below.

I can't stomach reading any more nonsense from you, Naggy.
You keep on blathering just to hear yourself, while saying nothing.

Nagy: In Murry (not Murray) Salby you have managed to find the modern day Claudius Ptolemy, a pseudo scientist and global warming denier whose shoddy work is easily exposed.

Here are the positions of not single scientific maverick, but scientific societies and other organizations:

SCIENCE ACADEMIES
International academies: Joint statement
"Climate change is real. There will always be uncertainty in understanding a system as complex as the world’s climate. However there is now strong evidence that significant global warming is occurring. The evidence comes from direct measurements of rising surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures and from phenomena such as increases in average global sea levels, retreating glaciers, and changes to many physical and biological systems. It is likely that most of the warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities (IPCC 2001)." (2005, 11 international science academies)10

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global average sea level.”13

"Al Gore flunked out of Vanderbilt divinity school,"

Nagy: I could not have told you where Gore went to college without looking it up. I did find that he graduated cum laude from Harvard after a lackadaisical record in high school. My source does not say that he flunked out of anything, but that he left Vanderbilt without completing the law degree because of his involvement in journalism and politics.

Gore making a low grade in a science class? So what? He did not begin what you think is a conspiracy to pretend there is global warming just to make things hard on altruistic, even saintly oil men.

Nagy: This is a childish strawman tactic. Al Gore is nothing but a bit player in publicizing the awareness of global warming. As to his private jet, I know not what is schedule is or the logistics involved. It seems an extravagance on the face of it, if true, but you are still making him my hero in order for me to defend what you say he does; a tactic to avoid meaningful discussion on the real issues.

I have little patience for an ignorant idiot like you lecturing me on what I cannot get straight. As early as the 1950s climate scientists were beginning to put together the studies showing that both the oceans and the atmosphere failed to convert the carbon dioxide spilled into them. The serious warnings about global warming were issued by a number of them before the end of the decade.

"1. Show your profound intellectualism and tell everyone what the most abundant greenhouse gas is."

Nagy: You are hoping I have no idea that water vapor is a greenhouse gas, and that there is much more of it than carbon dioxide. If I had not known that, you could fraudulently claim victory, when in fact, you have once again demonstrated your profound stupidity, swallowing specious arguments by global warming deniers. Water vapor is rather constant, while carbon dioxide levels are radically altered by the burning of fossil fuels. By attempting to introduce detail, you have merely elaborated on your previous position, namely that 97% of all climate scientists are wrong, but you and your thick skull are right.

"The hottest decade in the last century was the 1930's."

I'll take your word for it for now, because I have not been able to find independent information on it. Your "Professor" Murry Salby is not a credible source. However, 13 of 14 of the hottest years ever have been in the 21st century. That means every year we now have is a record or a near record.

"I can't stomach reading any more nonsense from you, Naggy.
You keep on blathering just to hear yourself, while saying nothing."

The "nothing" I have said is that 97% of all climate scientists say that global warming is progressing at dangerous levels, and that it is a direct consequence of human behavior. You put yourself above all the scientists on the idiotic premise that they are all selling out for their conclusions, having colluded with Al Gore to pretend exploit a situation that exists only in their fantasy. Now that is real blather.

Let us pretend that I understand none of the science involved. I do not know what a greenhouse gas is, and do not know what natural factors can drastically affect climate change. I don't even know what carbon dioxide is or that there is water vapor in the atmosphere. You would still have to explain how you know better than all the credible scientists in the world, as well as the scientific organizations and societies that have publicly posted official positions endorsed in near unanimity by their members warning us that carbon dioxide emissions are causing us severe problems. These institutions are

Engineer Al posted information that the 1930s were the hottest decided in the 20th century. The information from NASA contradicts that, as it shows a steady increase in global temperatures with no unusual spike during the 1930s. I smell a rat, or at least "Professor" Murry Salby.
