Had some great sunsets at Christmas and New Years Day. The picture of the surfer dude was cropped from the other picture. Sony a7iii, 24-105mm. Low light. Pleased with the camera!

One of the very first photos that I posted when I joined was the top photo of the Amtrak Station taken at night in Auburn, Wa. I'm reposting the same photo after taking a fresh look at it and now applying some newly learned skills both with Affinity software and the Nik plugin for black and white. So, please pass on your opinion as to which one you think is better. Frankly, I'm leaning heavily on the new bottom pic. Ken

Going on an African safari provides many photo ops that even an amateur like me cannot overlook. Here is a leopard we came across. I wish it would have looked at me while sitting up on the termite hill but it was pretty focused on waiting for the warthog to come out. While we missed the kill (some might think that was a good thing), we were able to catch the actual dining.

We visited this park, located in Palm Coast, Florida, during our recent vacation. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
It was the first time I had seen the polka-dot wasp moth or oleander moth.

I took a hike on skis up to Hogback Mt. above White Pass Ski Resort yesterday and caught some weather coming in. It didn't amount to much - no fresh snow to speak of this morning, but it made for some nice atmospherics.

I can see it! The very nut I want, but it's out of reach. Maybe if I twist my head like this. No! What about this way? No! If I twist this way----No! OK, maybe if I put myself in a Zen state, become the nut! If I can see it, I can be it! Just twist....thank goodness for those Yoga classes-----Yes!
Got it!

Photo was taken early afternoon on New Years Day 2019. I have been wintering in Apache Junction, AZ for the past 8 years and this is only the third time snow has appeared on Superstition Mountain. Probably not a lot of photos of snow on the mountain. Had to wait until the clouds broke open to get some sunshine on the peaks. Other areas are slightly shaded by clouds. Enjoy and have a GREAT DAY.

Faces from Philadelphia's iconic 2019 Mummers Parade.
The first "official" Philadelphia Mummers Parade was held in 1901, although various groups marched on New Year's Day for decades before that.
Happy New Year to all Hoggers. Thank you for making this group the source of all photographic information (and occasional disinformation).

Here are more shots taken (on my iPhone) at Machu Picchu. #1 shows a good example of the tetrahedral construction design. #2 is an example showing damage caused by an earthquake, but note that it did not fall apart...the stones were linked together by key stones to prevent that by lockin the stones together. #5 shows a steep peak with a path to the top and more terraces and structures. This may have been a ceremonial site. Happy New Year to all UHHers.
