Excellent shots! I love that place and have been there many times. I believe that the first "wolf" is actually a coyote in winter fur.

Sad... I like their information.
Well that's four links for reviews of the cameras I have that will go away. Too bad they are not in document form, ie. PDF... I'd save them.
If you use Windows, Right-click and choose "Save as Webpage". You will have it saved to your hard drive and can view it with your browser.

I have found that my iMacs far outlast any PC I had in the past. Right now, I am typing on a 2013 27" iMac that is still working. Two years ago, I gave my 2009 27" iMac away so the grandkids could watch children's programing.
Any 9 year old PC is now used as a doorstop if it hasn't been scrapped.
I don't know what walled garden you are referring to, please expand.
I hate to disagree with you but, my Second Generation iPad is a doorstop because the software can no longer be updated and none of the current apps will run on it. I am typing this on my 10 year old PC.

I do remember the surprise of "oh yeah! I forgot I took a pic of that!!”
"The delayed surprise was nice. Also taking a photo was one shot, no checks and reshoots, no time needed for post processing — you got back to having fun."

The 35mm film camera had a long reign as the king of photography cameras. It was replaced as king by the DSLR, which had a relatively short reign. Now the mirrorless camera is king. What will come along next to depose the mirrorless camera as king?
As much as I hate to admit it, video is the future. Go Pro, cell phone, mirrorless, it doesn't matter as long as it can produce a short, punchy video.
One additional bit of advice: Make sure that the camera battery is fully charged and use a SD card that was formatted in-camera.

Going to Scotland for 17 days in October. As I see it, there are all sorts of photo ops from inside abandoned castles to city scenes to gorgeous landscapes and everything in between. I only want to take one lens on a Sony a6400. If you’ve been to Scotland, what lens would you recommend? Thank you in advance..

You don't mention your lens inventory. If you have a nice wide-angle zoom, bring it. If you find that you need more, visit Weks Photo in either Edenborough or Glasgow. They rent lenses by the day.

It looks like this is just a box for holding a customer-supplied SSD. Not bad for 30 bucks if you are, for example, upgrading your internal SSD from 1 TB to 2 TB. You can give the old SSD new life as 1 TB of external storage.
The problem with this one is that it is only compatible with 4 types of storage. Look under the Overview tab and you will see the compatibility.
There is a link to the Gofundme page in the first article. Looks like he raised 50K already. Maybe we will all see those images soon.

My first suggestion would be to check out some of the excellent apps that give you more control over your phone. You can learn much about camera settings without spending a lot of money.
Then, armed with this knowledge and experience, go to a real brick-and-mortal camera store and have the salesman demonstrate the entry level cameras. Honestly, modern cameras, digital or mirrorless, are so good these days that it is difficult to choose a bad one. Go by how it feels in your hand, if the menu system makes sense to you, and how it fits your budget. Good luck!
The hat style of the Western woman is clearly not from 1862. It is 1880s to 1890's style.
If only we could see the EXIF for this photo.
A few years ago I too was caught in a downpour with my T2i. It also stopped working. I put it in a bag with a bunch of desiccant packs and waited a few days. No luck, so I bought a new camera. A few months later I decided to sell it for parts. I charged up the battery and it fired up as though nothing had happened. YMMV
