I just discovered that DxO has come out with a newer version. It was free to registered users so I downloaded it. There is ever growing overlap as programs compete to provide options that were only available in other SW. My ideal current workflow is:
LR => DxO => LR => PScc => LR

I often deviate and take short cuts.

Today I used the newer "Local Adjustment" in DxO to bring a friends face out of a deep shadow and save the photo.

I'm not patent enough to read instructions, so I was just flying by the seat of my paints when I used DxO to pull detail out of the shadows. I was impressed by how easy this was to do! Granted, now that you have the "original" perhaps you could do even better using SW and more skill. The fun part of post processing is that there are many ways to skin a cat. I'm easily impressed because local adjustments are new to DxO.

I need help in finding a good, simple photo editing program. I have had to buy a new computer with Windows 10 and my old programs will not work on it. I loved the simplicity of the old Olympus "Camedia" program which I used for years. The free program that comes with Windows 10 is not as good as the 7 was and will not add text or be flexible in the printing.

I need to "adjust" light, color, sharpen, crop & rotate, add text, and rename. I need to be able to print 12 or 20 to a page with the names on each photo.

I've tried Adobe "Lightroom". You can not add text with it and it is a monthly charge - not free or one time purchase.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
