Ken Buck of Colorado a conservative GOP senator is not going to run for reelection. He has come out and told the truth about the big lie and 1/6.To bad he didn't do this earlier and only did so because of fear of MAGA.

Ken Buck is a congressman, not a senator. Unfortunately, he like many other GOP politicians are being driven from the Senate and the house for not buying into MAGA world.

These panos were taken from the 52nd floor of the Vdara Hotel. It's pretty amazing the difference that you see between the day and the night in this lit-up city. Each pano contained 6 images and were merged in Photoshop. You can see the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, Treasure Island, the Flamingo, Harrah's, Trump, the Venetian, and a few others, all compressed in quite a small area. Download will certainly enhance your viewing experience :-)

The photo taken at night jump off the screen. The picture taken during the day is nice but nothing special. The night photo is special though.

More city trivia for those who love it. There are 34 states with a Springfield. Forty-Six states have a Riverside. There are 838 Burlingtons in the U.S. with Texas claiming 91 of them. I guess that's why we use Zip Codes.
Connecticut has a Berlin; during WWII they began placing the emphasis on the other syllable. They still do.

And Connecticut also has a town named Southbury. It is the only town or city named Southbury in the United States. There is even a sign in the town commemorating this factoid.

I also believe it is the only town or city in the world named Southbury. At least that is what Google told me recently and we all know that whatever we read on the internet is always true.

I came accross these two young raccoons that seemed to have lost their mother

Raccoons are vicious creatures. I would be very wary about being around young raccoons because the mother is most likely not very far away.

I am planning a trip to Washington DC in mid-November.

I have researched many to the amazing places to see in the metro DC area.

I have also heard that Great Falls National Park northwest of DC is a great area for photography. I will probably have about 3 days outside of time in the metro area. Can you suggest other areas for scenery or even some bird photography? I will most likely rent a vehicle for time outside of the metro area places of interest.

Thanks for you suggestions.

Ford’s Theater is great for photography. Looking up at the President’s box where he was assassinated was gut wrenching to me.

I also have never heard of this monument. I will have to visit it the next time i am in DC. When i visit, one of the first stops is the Vietnam Memorial. Along with the nearby Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial gets me every time. Although I never served, I know some of the names on the wall and many of the names on the wall are from my generation.

quote=ronichas]American Veterans Disabled for life is the only monument in DC dedicated to living Veterans. Visiting at night was very emotional. Definately worth the visit.

Through juxtaposition of granite and glass, the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial conveys a combination of strength and vulnerability, of loss and renewal. Dedicated on October 5, 2014, the Memorial shines a light on the important lessons of courage, sacrifice, tenacity, loyalty and honor by bearing witness to the experiences of war heroes who were disabled as a result of military service. It is the first national memorial dedicated solely to disabled veterans, paying tribute to the hidden and visible disabilities from all conflicts and all branches of service.***[/quote]

Between December 1944 and the end of January 1945, the Arrow Cross took as many as 20,000 Jews from the ghetto, shot them along the banks of the Danube, and threw their bodies into the river. The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a memorial erected on 16 April 2005, in Budapest, Hungary.

Knew nothing about this memorial. Thank you for posting.

Never forget.

Are these pictures all from Bruges or are they from other cities?

I was in Belgium in 2014 and again in 2022. Visited Bruges in 2014 and loved the town. My trip to Belgium in 2022 was concentrated in the Bastogne area as it was a Band Of Brothers D-Day tour. Loved the tour.

Hi all, I'll be in Boston tomorrow afternoon, and would love to shoot a sunset somewhere near the water with a long exposure. If anyone has any location suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

This might work for you. See link below. I took the daytime cruise just last week and enjoyed it. You pick up the cruise on Longwhard Pier near the Long Wharf Marriott hotel.

Francis Ford Coppola (who directed the movie “Tucker”) has a burgundy Tucker at his winery in Rutherford, California. There are also three Tucker’s at the Antique Automobile Club of America museum in Hershey, Pa. Beautiful cars.

I have also just returned from a land tour and a cruise from Whittier Alaska to Vancover, British Columbia. experienced some nice clear weather in Denali but the rest of the time was cloudy with some rain. Got to see some whales, moose, Dallas sheep, bears, and caribou on the trip so its all good.

We had a great cruise on board the National Geographic/Lindblad "Sea Bird." It was a photography cruise with one National Geographic photographer (Rich Reid) and three other photo instructors. The only problem was that it was alway overcast. Accordingly, my shots rarely have the bright colors I hoped to use.

Organization of my shots is primarily chronological, but certain things (like the whales) deserve their own post.

You will run out of interest and patience before I run out of shots (LOL).

As always, please share your comments and suggestions.
