They do look a little lost and this is a very good photo! I love them, even when they read my trash can.
Great shots! Mom will find them.
Did you see on the news last night, right here in CT, where an adult raccoon was biting a young girl as she headed out the door to wait for the school bus. Her mother heard her screaming, and ran out the door. Grabbed the raccoon by the neck and tossed it out into the yard. Scary! Brave mother.
Yes I did see that on the news. What I would like to know is, who was taking the video, why weren't they helping?
I'm also from Manchester, CT. Nice photo!

I questioned that also.
I’m glad no one was seriously hurt.

And I really hope the rabies test came out negative.
I haven't had a raccoon in my yard since about 2010, a few have gone by on the "fence top freeway" but they and the opossums do not come in the yard.
You see back then my little Jack Russel mix Tara, not quite full-grown yet, killed 3 or 4 opossums in the yard that year and chased a coon bigger than herself into the pool, and it almost drowned because she wouldn't let it out. I had to go out and pick Tara up while the coon got out and over the fence. My wife's Shih Zhu Toby (about 1/3 bigger than Tara at the time) just sat off to one side of the pool watching and barking. I don't know who he was cheering on.
But even though we are a built up area there are patches of brush and mountains only a few miles away and wild strips along a lot of the two freeways that cross in town so we get a fair number of wild critters including coyotes on occasion. Some of them have been positive for rabies when Animal Control caught them or the cops shot them when they attacked a person or pets.
When Tara was 6 months old and still quite small, a mother coon used to bring her 3 kits down to raid Tara's food dish on the patio at night when Tara came into the house to sleep. My wife used to like to watch them through the glass doors and go on about how cute they were. And she made me put out extra food for them for a while. Well they were only about a pound or so at the time, and they were very cute little guys.
So adorable! We have them, but never see them during the day…
Thanks everyone for your responses. They can make a mess, but that's how they get some food. Every garbage can be a picnic basket.
They are adorable and these are great close up photos. Speaking of the little girl who was attacked; I hope she received the rabies shots. Healthy raccoons do not attack unless provoked.
Good shots of the babies -
Coons do not make good neighbors
