the D3300 is a good camera. use it more than my D500. it's like my go to camera, lol.

I upgraded from the D3000 to the D5600.
Reason #1 Sensor. However, except for the D3000, I believe the D3XXX and D5XXX use the same sensor.
Reason #2 Live View. Not on the D3000. See #3.
Reason #3 Articulated screen. I use eye viewer most of the time, but articulated screen is great for "down to
earth" shots such as mushrooms. This was the tiebreaker with the D3500 which was just coming out.
Reason #4 was the newer lens issue cited above.

maybe I read OP wrong but if not he has D3300 which makes #2 null and void because i have a D3300 as
well and mine has live view.
I too am happy with crop format.

The "EM" series was specifically designed for women (Nikon's concept, not mine), lacking the weight and bulk of the F and Nikkormat series. The EM series also saw the introduction of the "E" series lenses, which had great glass, but were built with less expensive plastics, and lacked the ears of the AI lenses. The EM was built with more plastics in it, and offered only aperture control, but also had exposure compensation.

I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know, since you owned one. It was a great starter camera for someone seeking Nikon lenses and simplicity of exposure.

thanks and i didn't know (and dont think my dad knew) that the EM was "designed for women". Really Nikon ? how about amateur teenagers ! lol.

The FE was a high line semipro body just below the F3, and the F3 was arguably the best MF SLR of all time.

thanks but i was wondering about the Nikon EM film camera. my father got the FE when i had the Polariod one step. then i wanted a Nikon. so he got me the EM a year later for my b-day.

Read the OP.

no kidding. i was asking pixel if the lens he <-- was referring to was the same as the OP <--.
pixel gives a link for a 300 f/4 af-s. OP is asking about a 300 f/4.5 ais manual.

"Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote. Simple, cheap, and it works."

I'm confused.

The name may remain on some molds, but IBM definitely gave up when they had clearly lost control of the business.
In 2005, Chinese technology company Lenovo purchased the IBM personal computer business and the ThinkPad as a flagship brand along with it. Speaking about the purchase of IBM's personal computer division, Liu Chuanzhi said, "We benefited in three ways from the IBM acquisition. We got the ThinkPad brand, IBM's more advanced PC manufacturing technology and the company's international resources, such as its global sales channels and operation teams. Although Lenovo acquired the right to use the IBM brand name for five years after its acquisition of IBM's personal computer business, Lenovo only used it for three years.

If it said "Made by IBM," it was made a very long time ago. Maybe you didn't notice the one extra word in very tiny type: "Formerly made by IBM." When you walked into the store the sales guys said, "Looks like we've got a live one here. We'll sell him the 10 year old Lenovo. He'll never know the difference until 2 hours after the end of warranty coverage when it explodes." >Alan

glad i don't have to give sarcastic remarks like other a-h's, lol.

No, it was IBM's brand.
IBM sold the brand to a Chinese company, and everything from design to marketing changed hands.

forgive me , my memory is going to.... but very recently i saw in a store (best buy ?) a Lenovo think pad and turned it over. it said to the best/worst of my memory "made by IBM" or something to that effect. so your reply confuses me. not arguing at all, just confused. :-)
