Inkjet printers need to be used pretty much continually otherwise the heads get blocked. They can be cleaned and the Epson's do have a cleaning cycle, but they burn through ink. I had all of the pro Epson printers and had to scrap them due to lack of use and blocked heads. Cost more to fix than buy a new printer. Also cost about $1,000 to feed a printer. I started to use outside services for the prints I wanted. Better use of money, but you have to wait for your prints to arrive. All time favorite printers were the Fuji Pictography printers, which they do not make anymore. Sorry to see those go away.

I am printing less since the Covid and my printer works fine after being idle for a month or so. Cannon P100

I had driven past this fence more than once on my way to kayak at a nearby lake but never with my camera. So I made a separate trip with camera and shot this on a somewhat dreary day.

Brown water Navy 69-70 and always knew that when the s**t hit the fan you could count on a Heuy crew to save your bacon. I still stop and look up and listen to the sound of rescue and support from those birds. Thank you for allowing me to come home.

Thank you to all for replying to my request. I wasn’t as specific as I should have been. I will buy the eneloop batteries and a Masha smart charger.

I read the Hop everyday and learn something everyday. Hoggers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for your responses.

Out of the thousands of rechargable batteries in this world, what type, voltage, use and chemical make up are you asking about?

Hi,

I apologize for not being more complete in my request for help. I will be using AA and AAA batteries and a smart charger. The AA for my flash unit, the AAA around the house.

I have read about rechargeable batteries and plan to buy some. What I don't know is what kind of charger should I be looking for? I searched this forum but only saw old entries and no specific mention of a non-OEM charger except Lacrosse.

Please let me know if you have had a good experience and the make and or model.

Thanx

When Crashplan raised their rates I did look at Carbonite and Backblaze. $6.00 a month is not a bad price. I was using Crashplan for a complete backup as well. It worked out great, except for the costs going up ;)

I use Crashplan and love it. Just $7.50 a month for two computers, me and wife. Full backups, easy retrieval, and great service.

What are our photos worth? I have learned photography is quite expensive, my photos are precious.

Lost more shots than I care to think about by not loading the film correctly on the take up spool. I a better now, I remember to put the SD card in the camera.

Just to add in my $0.02. I moved up from my d7000 which I loved to d750. Kept both with no regrets. The d750 is a great camera and as has been said here, all the camera you may need.

I agree with go for it. I am 70 and plan to add to my lenses with a 200-500. I couldn’t be happier. The Cannon vs Nikon is a sideline discussion. If you want to switch, then switch. Life is good but short.

I spent 3 months there with Riv Div 543 based out of a marine compound just up river with the Navy PBRs. The city floods regularly but is beautiful. In 1969 it was a Viet Cong hot bed. We were abused on one night patrol and lost a Gunner Sargent from the Marine compound who went out on patrol with us one night because he thought the (Squids) were joy riding on the rivers at night. We also lost our front gunner. No joy rides on the rivers in Viet Nam at night. The marines would not feed us because our hair was longer than theirs so we slept on our boats outside the compound at night and ate WWII c- rations. After that night ambush they had a more nuanced opinion of the Squids that ran the rivers at night.

I went back in 2007 and appreciated the village but will never forget that evening on patrol. Glad that Viet Nam is doing better. Too bad we messed them up for so long.

I have the 24-120mm on my D750 most of the time. I do use a 50mm but find that I am spoiled with my zoom. I like the idea of focusing (no pun intended) on one focal length to experiment and learn.

I really like them all, but number one is my favorite. There is something about the sea and man made structure that don’t endure that I find interesting. That shot says a lot. Nicely done.
