Okay, if you know about this, I'm sorry, I don't mean to be redundant, BUT...………

Did you know that if you're an Amazon Prime Member, Amazon provides UNLIMITED Cloud Full Res Photo Storage. I Just dumped over 2,000 NEF files to their cloud. You have limitations on Videos (and probably regular Data Files) But unlimited Photos. I Cant believe it. I Wish I knew about this before the California Wildfires that destroyed my NAS system and every photo I ever took in my life.

Anyhow, I've been a prime member for nearly a year now and never knew of this. Check it out if you're a Prime member.

Just go to Amazon, and type Prime Photo in the search Bar. There's an app for a desktop or Laptop you need to install, (They Prompt you to Install) you can even upload your Phone pics when you install the app from the appropriate Store.

FWIW: I tried using PRIME picture storage a couple of times now as a cloud backup system for my images.

The first issue I had was that the software was not ready for prime time...no scheduling backups, had to be manually launched. Second issue was it would skip files already stored, instead of replacing the files. No ability to download a single file to its original location.

They improved the software after about a year, 2nd time I tried it, it could be automated, but still had issues replacing files, and still had issues restoring files easily.

I then deleted all images on prime storage and moved to Crashplan for cloud storage. Automated, efficient, kept versions of files, used blocks to reduce data uploaded, easy restored...the problem is they raised the price too high for my thinking.

Now I keep a backup of everything on an external drive that runs every hour plus a backup of my images on a separate drive kept in a fireproof/waterproof box that runs monthly.

I wish PRIME storage would improve and be useable as an automated backup for my images, and perhaps they have.

I suspect that since Amazon sells Storage, they don’t want to give away free what they sell.

I Had no idea its been around that long. I thought I had a fair handle on Cloud Storage Options. I guess Its the 1st time I've ever been wrong (rolls eyes)

I Guess I'm just looking for an offsite backup, and the price is perfect, Unlimited and Free ! Well not free if you're not a prime member.

I’ve been Prime since it started. I have over 30,000 pics stored there. I simply open Prime Photos from my Chrome browser, and upload pics there. Couldn’t be easier. I have the Prime Photos app on my IPad and can pull up any pic anywhere in the world. Not bad considering it’s included with your Prime membership.

I find it hypocritical that so many here are in hiding and want secrecy yet give all their life to a complete stranger to do with as they please.
If you think that it is safe from prying eyes you must believe that the FBI is honorable and the government working hand in hand with corporations like Amazon are trustworthy.
