What WB setting do you have your camera on?

I shoot RAW and usually have it on auto when I am shooting outdoors.

Great input. What is the advantage of using white over grey?

I only shoot RAW. After using a grey card I use the eye dropper on the grey card.

I haven't been satisfied with some of the white balance results I get when I have used a grey card (I use Lightroom). My white balancing seems to be better when I eyeball it. Has anyone else had the same experience? Are the results much different between different brands of grey cards?

It really depends on your photography niche. If you shoot events, parties, or weddings, where you are likely to take hundreds of photos, then LR is probably the best way to go and you don't even need PS. Selections are also made easier in LR, and you can go directly to PS from there if you like.

I started in jpeg and then quickly moved to RAW. It isn't time consuming when using LR. a couple of clicks and a camera calibration makes it all seamless! However, for photos requiring ANY PP, RAW is the only way to go.

I have one and although it prints great the ink runs out fast and is expensive to replace ($125 a pop). I got mine with a rebate and package of 50 13x19 paper which makes it a little more cost effective.

I made the switch to Apple (27" iMac) at the beginning of this year and haven't looked back. I had a pretty powerful PC and laptop but having the best of screens and color rendition trumps power any day (IMHO). I see a big difference in my photos just off white balancing alone. An Apple straight out the box is color calibrated. Correct me if I'm wrong, folks.

I love it for individual portraits (headshots, full body, etc.) on my 6D. 85mm is about where you would want to be anyway when shooting a portrait so this is ideal for a full frame.

I love my 6D. The low light performance is incredible. I've gotten a fairly clean test image at 12,800 ISO. It's not a sports camera, however. But for portraits, weddings, or other events you can't beat it for the money. Spend the extra money on L glass, IMHO.

I converted to a Mac (27" iMac) user early this year. Best investment I've made for photography. It takes a little while to get used to coming from Windows, but the better color calibration out of the box is more than worth it.
