I used matt about 20% of the time and luster for the remainder. I now print exclusively in carbon transfer and no longer expose under an enlarger.

Beautiful images and they look entirely different from the variety of magnolias we have in Nashville. If you want, I will post a couple of Tennessee magnolia buds as soon as I have the strength to get to my computer.

Hi
I use a Carl Zeiss 100 f4 macro planar zf with an a7rii with a NovoFlex adapter. This is my main lens and it works without any issues whatever. The zf mount is a Nikon compatible mount and the Zeiss is one of the best lenses ever made in that formulation at that length in my opinion. The NovaFlex have no automatic features but neither does this lens

Nicely done, Earl. I find those plant structures fascinating as well. I hadn't died yet and I am planning a little photo trip in early February to one of the barrier islands near Georgia. I shall post some images of this wonderful place when able. Best to all of you great people. Also, I sincerely hope that this reply is not a hijack of this beautiful image offering. Love to you all, Fred

By the way Earl,

What sort of car is pictured where I would normally look for a face?
Here is a picture that I took at the greenhouses at University of California, Davis in the spring. I think this is one of the most delicate flowers that I have ever seen.

Thanks, Fred

Hi , Earl and other denizens of this little friendly place that I love so much to visit. These are the perfect images to wake up to on my first morning home from the Randal McMurphy Memorial Neurosurgery Recovery Room at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center where some of the naughty bits of my poor old, underused, brain were neatly removed, but not replaced. Best to all of you fellow capturers of totally unsuspecting photos. Best wishes to all. Love is all that remains to or for me now, Fred.

Beautiful, Eleanor. I also enjoy photographing subtlety textured surfaces. I have moon flowers and morning glories and they appear to be related to me. I have only been using digital for this past year so I have a lot to learn. My minor brain surgery went ok and I get to go home today. I look forward to more posts. Thanks ,Fred

My favorite is a Carl Zeiss 100mm f 2.0 makro7planar ZF which is engineered to fit Nikon F mounts. It is a manual focus lens and is blazingly sharp, especially at f4.0. I use it on a Sony a7rII which will display the weakness of any lens focused upon its sensor.
Best, Fred

Hi all, I shall openly state that I have spent the first 30 years of my sobriety learning how to live and the last two and a half learning how to die. The lessons are profoundly similar; love with the entire capacity of my heart and soul. The recurring themes in my images are peaceful contemplation and sensuality .

Good luck with your cancer, Bob. Mine just came back, that's why I call it Arnold. Minor brain surgery on Thursday for me. I really hope you get to avoid this part. Best wishes, Fred
