Is there a recurring theme going through your photographic work? ... If so, what is it?

You know ... "Life is Good" ... "The Full Meaning of Life" ... "Just Do it!" ... is one of these an appropriate "tag line" for your work, or no?

There seems to be some hesitation on this one, huh? ... No immediate answers forthcoming ... so let me try and break the ice, a bit ....

If you've been to the Gallery, to see some of my posts - some of you may have well noticed, a recurring theme - particularly, in my pictures of gravestones at the local cemetery. There are many baubles and bangles at the headstones, or just hanging from metal poles, nearby. I've tried to bring the "realism" of this, to you - through the photographs. It's a great stress reliever, both for me, and in a sense, for anyone who views the photographs. It's a reminder of the inevitability of the end of life, but it also shows you the extremes people go to, who felt so deeply for their loved ones, they added these things to their burial sites - in a way - to extend their lives - even though THEY are gone, but we are still here ... and still love, and care for our dear departed. Some may think these pictures make light of the whole thing - death, and its inevitability.
But, that's NOT what I attempted to do. What I wanted to do - was bring it to those who see the pictures ... that life goes on, and when our time comes ... inevitably ... someone will remember us in just such a way. So, the photos are a message of hope. And, comfort ... do you see?

Hi all, I shall openly state that I have spent the first 30 years of my sobriety learning how to live and the last two and a half learning how to die. The lessons are profoundly similar; love with the entire capacity of my heart and soul. The recurring themes in my images are peaceful contemplation and sensuality .

Fred ... glad you've come to that understanding. Sorry about your current state of health. Love makes the world go round, Fred. It always will ... think about that ... "peaceful contemplation" is a good place to be. I hope the pictures I've pointed viewers to, in this thread, will embrace that theme, for you ....

Good Luck, my friend ....

I just shoot what I see around me and find interesting, or requested to shoot.
There is no particular theme running through it all, beside trying to take a lot of it beyond a "snapshot".
I do wander into a cemetary from time to time, however my images are very different to yours.

It's an interesting side excursion, isn't it, Richard?

I find it quite invigorating ... even though, it's so somber ....

Although many of the pictures I shoot of headstones there are full head-on ...

I've tried to avoid showing those in my Gallery Posts - out of respect to the relatives ....

Tell me ... now you've seen mine ... how are yours different? ... Care to share one or two, here?

So neat, Richard ....

I especially like both of the birds ones ... the B/W one is so Hitchcockian, huh?

That last one made me laugh .... those birds are so colorful ... are there a lot of them in Sydney?

What are they called?

They are very common along the easten seaboard and through into South Australia. How many are around will depend on what trees are blossoming and are in fruit.
They are called Rainbow Lorikeets

Looking back that's a fairly consistant theme of mine.

The Beauty of Nature, you mean?

Yes ... I suppose it could be seen that way - by a great many of us ....
