Looking at a Tamron 18-400 Nikon mount lens on Amazon. This seller includes many additional items (Altura Photo Sling Backpack + Altura Photo Pro 67" DSLR & Mirrorless Camera Monopod + Altura Photo Neoprene Large Lens Pouch + 72mm Filter Kit + Altura Photo Cleaning Kit + Premium MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloth) at the same price as B&H for lens alone. Yelp comments (22 dating back to 2015) are all 5-star. The ad and their web site say they are an authorized Tamron dealer (also Canon, Sony, Olympus, Zeiss etc. but not Nikon). Has anyone had experience with them? digitalgoja.com

I have a D5500. You can change the auto-off timer to reduce the time (down to 4 seconds) that the image remains for "auto-chimping". When I press the AE-L/AF-L that has been set to BBF before the image is cleared by time-out or shutter half-press the image is Protected. I do not see any way to turn this Protect function off. The only good solution I have found is to turn off auto Image Review and use the Review button as needed.

I'm going to Panama next month with Caravan Tours. We will have one day "at leisure" at the Playa Bonita hotel. Rather than lounging around I'd like to go shooting. Any recommendations for a day trip or guide? Equipment is D5500, 18-140, 35 1.8, and new (actually refurbished from Nikon) 70-300 AF-P. Also trying to decide if it is worth taking my Mefoto RoadTrip (or just the monopod part).

Planning a trip to Panama. I would like to have my Android phone capture GPS tracking data to add into Lightroom Map module. Any software recommendations? While I would like it to be a low-resource program I do want one I can turn on and off.

I have a Nikon D5500 with the 18-140 Nikon lense. Thinking of getting the new Tamron 18-400 before a trip to Panama next year. Any experience with this new Tamron superzoom?

Unless your USB port is labeled 3.0, it is USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 flash drive will cost more but will operate in 2.0 mode (and speed).

The number in [ ] on the Info screen is the number of pictures that can be written on the card for the current format (Raw, Fine, Norm, Basic, Raw+F, Raw+N,Raw+B). Change the format on the touch screen and the number will change. The file size is different for each of the 7 formats. In the viewfinder the [r03] is the buffer capacity, which also varies slightly based on the format.

From the comments it appears that switching to Auto turns off BBF on Canons but not on Nikons.

On a Nikon D5500 that is set for BBF, switching to Auto does NOT turn BBF off.

Is there any reason why I should NOT automatically apply lens profile correction and chromatic correction on LR CC 2015.6 import to all photos taken with my D5500?
I also have a a 35mm 1.8 and a 85mm Micro NIKKOR 3.5 but rarely use them. When I apply lens correction manually it always makes a significant change.
