I still can't see the eye and most assuredly did not add it :)

Thanks so much for your comments!

You can't see it? Maybe it's my warped sense of perception. On the second pic - to the left of the horse - right at eye level. It looks like an eye with eyebrow in the clouds. On one hand I can't believe you don't see it, on the other hand you have 9 pages of comments and only one other person mentioned it.

I'm not usually a fan of black and white but these are beautiful. Did you notice the "eye" in the clouds in the upper left?

That eye in the clouds caught my attention right away. I actually thought for a moment she Photo Shopped it in to see if anyone would notice, but I really don't believe she did. I think it was a one in a million shot. BTW, I like them both, but the second one is my favorite.

Welcome, nice moment captured, did they have a territorial dispute?

Thanks. There were 3 or 4 of them that day. Just about every time one would get a drink another would chase him away and take over.

I hope that your Hummers are more 'sharing' than those in Smith River, CA! Our feeder, like yours, has four feeding stations. But most of the time only one bird feeds (she/he) chases the others that try to land away. :-(

There's usually more fighting than sharing.

It's time to try a post. I shot this one in Ohio this past summer. It was intended to be one hummer at the feeder, but the second one decided to drop in at the last second.

I've been lurking for a few weeks, I guess I should introduce myself. I was born in NW Illinois and lived in Phoenix most of my life. My wife and I are currently snowbirds, living in Phoenix in the winter and NW Ohio during the summer.

I did a lot of amateur film photography in the 80s then got busy with life. I've just recently jumped back in with digital technology and find I'm having to learn all over again!

Well, how cool is that??? I live in Freeport, IL!! This tree is located on Stephenson Street, across from the old YWCA, currently Fitness Lifestyles. I don't know how many years they've been decorating their tree like this, but I remember taking our kids to see it when they were little, and our daughter will turn 30 next month. Thanks for looking in! :) Merry Christmas to you!!

Thanks! I know where Stephenson St. is, I had to Google the exact location of Fitness Lifestyles. I grew up on Rt 75 just outside of town and of course that turns into Stephenson Street. My Dad grew up on Center Street across from the school. Oops, I'm getting off topic and I'm new here, I don't want to get in trouble with the moderators. Merry Christmas and thanks for the reply. Bob

I love it, nice idea and nice picture. A neighbor always does a similar red tree for Christmas but I never thought of it as an apple. Could I ask in what town this tree is located? I see your info says you're in NW Illinois. I was born in Freeport.
