There are a lot of cameras within your budget. If you want to photograph grandchildren, make sure that your camera will shoot video clips. For your purpose I would not go for a "big guns" camera. I would start with something like Panasonic ZS 40, witch has a ton of features. If you will grow into National Geographic photographer, then you can look for some serious DSLR.

Steve M is correct...........If you are just starting off with grandkids and family there is no need for a DSLR.......learn with something like the Panasonic ZS 40 for a year and then decide what you need.

You are being too polite in your comment. It always amazes me that so many people who reply to posts in this forum don't take the time to read the replies and comments that others have already made. In this case, repetitive comments about gray snow, mirror slap (ridiculous in the first place at 1/3000 shutter), tripods, stabilization and such are a waste of readers' time. I suggest that having the courtesy to read earlier replies before imparting your wisdom might greatly improve this forum.

I guess the OP should have just waited for your wisdom and called it a day...

Navigation is completely awful. What are you really selling?
If I go to the site, I don't want to wade through pictures of cats...........I'd dump the whole thing and move to something like Zenfolio.....and yes, you need the multi-faced approach and personal, daily work to drive visitors.

This is what my brother did last family gathering that we had. I did know of this was what he was doing tell on day he ASKED ME if he could take group shot at a adoption party I was having for the 5 &6 year old girls I had adopted. So he takes the shot. Three of them, sends me the photo and then he tells me that there is a copy right on the photos and if I want one it will run 200.00. Well I just spent 3 year in court fighting for the two girls and 30 k. He ask if he could take the photos and now he wants money. Come to find out he charged my mom 150.00 for last year Christmas photos. Guess what he wants to do on thanksgiving this year. So would you set in the shoot ?

I am a Fuji shooter. I have the X100T now, so don't have any of the current lenses. In the past I had an XE-2 with a few lenses such as the 10-24 and 14mm.........both fine lenses.

If you are not aware of the Fuji Forum, I suggest you go there and read many threads about the lenses available today.

It sounds like you have to provide your own DAM process if you make this switch

List of email photo printing service for lightroom email. Services with FTP plugin? I am not satified with Walgreens.

Also a note...I use Lightroom too, but do not email my processed jpegs directly to a print house from LR. I export them to a work folder on my desktop and then later, email those I want prints of to my printing company. I would even do this with Costco or Walgreen

Is this for snapshots or high quality photo prints?

I've used Mpix and White Wall Photo with success.

First step is to affix to heavy 110# card stock using 3M General Purpose #45. lightly spray the card stock. Wad kitchen wax paper and semi flatten it. Tack the top center of the uncut photo
just a little to the card stock with the wax paper between. Spread center to side with fingers to get photo it started. Pull the wax paper out inch at a time and stoke toward wax paper and outward to debubble. continue ... wow not mounted. mark corners to size canvas. I punch a pinhole. with sizers cut at 45* roughly so you have a clear view both ends for your (walmart) moving edge paper cutter indexing.

Next the canvas with edge painted for decor or to match photo (I vignette black or white). Run a blue tape around the edge to protect from spray glue (I set up a gig/fixture). Put a foam plastic the thickness of the wood under the canvas to prevent sagging from finger pressure.

Do as in the first paragraph and mount the photo on the canvas. If edge of canvas unit is black I black the photo edge.

The pre stretched canvas is from Michel's crafts and 10/$20 and it is often on sale so the cost comes down to $1.25 each.

problem, then PM me.

Thanks for the detailed instructions............I'll give it a try on a small print and see how I do........

Get rid of the glass! Easy huh.

I mount mine on 8x10" artist's per-stretched canvas (not flat board)
OR
On Masonite with turned sides that cover edges. Then use three 3/4" cubes to make the print stand out from the wall.

Interesting...how do you affix it to the canvas?
