I am going on a trip to Europe and planning to bring only 1 compact camera (is that possible?). I am looking for a kind of high performance camera that I can shoot in RAW, good zoom , able to do manual focus, full frame (?).Is there such thing?

Those cameras are too big. I try to leave my DSLR home and go with an almost pocket size camera.

Bigger pockets?
Love my Fuji X-E2 but it's just as big as the Sony A6000
Interested to read recommendations.

I'm very impressed with the Sony RX100- have the MK 2 as a loaner for work.
The latest (MK4) looks amazing but it's not cheap!

We had wonderful photos and luck in 2013 with our Canon Powershot G15 for travels in England and Paris. Since then, Canon released the G16.

One photo in particular sealed my love for the camera: a no-flash shot inside Notre Dame. One day I'll figure out how to post to this forum. I am still a newbee.

Checkout the Panasonic FZ1000 and the Sony RX10 IIorIII for what you will be doing can't beat em, check out a working photographer by the name of Kirk Tuck at http://visualsciencelab.blogspot.co.uk/ he is currently using the Rx10II, A6300, & one of the A7 series, he has in his way reviewed the RX10 series, and has basically the same opinion of the FZ1000, you can't go wrong with either.

I think you will find a mirrorless full frame camera somewhat on the large side.
Give the Leica D-LUX (Type 109) a look. It's small and light, will shoot RAW, can be shot in Manual Mode, and has an equivalent 24-75mm lens.

I believe Panasonic has a compact camera with a 30x zoom 18 megapixels can operate on full manual and Evf. I think it is a. Z40 or?

The RX100 MK4 is a pocket camera alright....more like a pocket book camera... it will put a big dent in the pocketbook!

The only choice you have is the Sony RX1! However it is a fixed lens camera. 35mm but it has 42mp so you can zoom in post. Very small and it is full frame.

One thing to consider is if you want the camera to have a viewfinder. Sadly, many small cameras nowadays are missing this feature. But some do have it.
