We're traveling to the Tetons in October on a quest for Moose and Beaver (my wife is obsessed with beaver). Both are most prevelent at sunset. I plan to be waiting patiently in a couple of prime spots. I'll be using my Z6ii with my Z 100-400 lens and my 1.4 Teleconverter. My question is.... As it gets dark should I remove my 1.4 Teleconverter to allow more light? It might depend if I am shooting handheld or on my tripod.

I love my Nikon P900 or if you want to spend a little less try the Nikon P600. Both have incredible zoom (the P600, a little less)

I have a Nikon D7100 (but I guess my question is appropriate for many cameras) and could use some suggestions for programming my U1 and U2 effectively. I'm sure there are a lot of personal opinions but I hope to figure out what would be most helpful.

I own a D7100 and had the exact same dilemma. Instead of a huge lens too large for hiking, I opted to buy a Nikon P900 as a 2nd camera. The zoom is awesome. I wear a Black Rapid double sling and carry both cameras when I hike. Very happy with my results.

I'm very frustrated. I had a nice day yesterday with my wife, daughter and grandson at Happy Hollow Petting Zoo and Park in San Jose CA. I edited and posted 8 photos to my Facebook page no problem.......very happy with the results......but when I try and email a few pics I am unable because the file size is too large. I can email one pic at a time but would like to attach at least 3 or 4, or even more. I was using my Nikon D7100 and shooting in JPG FINE>, and edited in Elements 15.......I would so appreciate some help

I have a Nikon D7100 and enjoy wildlife shooting. I almost bought a Tamron 150-600 but when I discovered how huge and heavy it was I chose to buy a Nikon P900 as a second camera for my mega zoom. It was a great choice for me. Easily zooms to 1000mm or even to 2000mm with a tripod. When I hike I use a Black Rapid double strap to carry both cameras. I am very pleased with the quality.

I just found out I overpaid my estimated taxes last year and have a refund coming (bad news, I made less money last year but good news, I have a small windfall coming). I've decided to treat myself to my first Prime lens. I have a Nikon D7100 and three lenses. A tokina 11-16, Nikon 24-120, and my kit Nikon 55-300. I'd appreciate any recommendations for a Prime lens. Should I get a 35mm or a 50mm? Is 1.8 fine or should I go 1.4? I shoot everything from wildlife, to landscapes, to portraits (my grandson is 2 1/2).

Hello all. I finally decided to try shooting Raw images. I am using Elements 15 to open and edit the Raw images. I purchased a good book for learning and am doing okay. My first question is......What is the best way to convert the DNG file to a JPG after I am done editing. I need to do this to images that I want to pass on to friends or family so they can open the images. I don't care to pay for a converter application.

I must say that for now, although I am still learning, it seems easier to use the program "Perfectly Clear" to edit JPGs with their preset edit options as opposed to editing Raw. I get excellent results with Perfectly Clear with my JPGs.

I finally decided to experiment and learn how to edit RAW images. I shot some samples with my D7100 set to shoot both a JPG and a Raw image. When I try to open them with my Photoshop Elements 10 the JPG opens no problem but the Raw image get an error message that it can't open the .nef file because it is the wrong file type. I tried to update my camera raw plugin but can't figure out how to do that. I'm frustrated.......any help would be appreciated.

Hi All. I like to hike with my Nikon P900 for super zoom, and my Nikon D7100. In march for a trip to Yellowstone I purchased a Black Rapid Double carrier and of course I am packing now for a trip to depart on Friday and can not find my double strap. Before I try and order a new one one I am curious if anyone has any suggestions for a strap to carry two cameras, or is the Black Rapid my best choice. I need to order very quickly.

Thanks all for the thoughtful responses. I finally decided that any of my three choices would have been good sharp lenses and have purchased the Nikon 24-120 which will serve me best as a walk around lens due to it's range and will be a fine portrait lens too. My local camera shop which had all three lenses happened to have a brand new 24-120 with full warranty but no box because it was from a kit from which they sold the body to someone who didn't want the lens. I paid $799. I've been using the lens for two days now and am very happy.

I own a Nikon 7100 and a Nikon P900 (for my wildlife zoom). I own two lenses for my 7100 and am shopping for a third. I have a Tokina 11-16, and a Nikon 70-300. I had another lens which dropped and needs to be replaced. At present I am choosing between a Nikon 16-80, Nikon 24-120, and a Nikon 24-70. This new lens should serve as a portrait lens, and possible a walk around lens. I'd appreciate any feedback, and even alternative suggestions for my third lens. I was hoping to spend less than $1000, but may stretch it for the 24-70 which is a straight 2.8

I looked at the Tamron 150 - 600 and was impressed but because I do a lot of hiking decided it was way too large for my needs. As opposed to a new lens I opted for a Nikon P900 for my mega zoom needs. I have been very happy. The attached pic is at 2000 mm without a tripod (which should be used). I use a Black Rapid double strap for hiking.

I'm hoping to get some feedback on whether I should consider changing from using Elements to Lightroom. I am only a hobbyist and as of now only shoot JPGs. What will Lightroom allow me to edit that I can not do with Elements?
