Tell me something, do you need a satellite, or cable hookup in order to use your Roku? I have direct tv but the cost is more than I think it’s worth. I have heard about these devices like Apple TV and Roku but don’t understand what they do or how much they cost. Do you buy this device and still have to pay a monthly fee for programming? I’d appreciate the help.

Rich

If you can use one of the window flat antennas ( $10-$20 on Amazon) for local stations, the Roku or Apple TV will get you a pretty good selection of cable channels and save you money if you have internet.

And clumping can eventually lead to total blockage......get prunes!

Thanks, I was thinking that a rental lens would allow my wife to see if the lens was what she wanted before I spent this much. I hope that I can find one available locally in the Dallas area.

My wife went from a Sony 50X to a Canon 6Ti with the 55 and 300mm kit lenses and would like something to recover some of the reach she has with the Sony. Can anyone suggest a decent lens I could get her for around $1000 to $1500?

Thanks, for several years in the mid 80s I lived in Georgetown. I really loved the area.

Hi Yall, I got into digital photography with an Oly I think it was a 480, a 3040,a 5050 an E510 then a Nikon 1V1. along the way I got My wife a ZX1 so she could get her grandbaby Pics, She and I both really liked the C5050 but one of the grand kids knocked it off the table and broke the PASM knob off. Recently she spurged and bought herself a Sony HX400 so she could take hummingbird Pics. After seeing how good she was getting I decided it was time for me to invest in a good 300 or bigger SLR lens so I could get some decent pics. After seeing what a good one would cost, I started looking at the Bridge cameras. Looking at several review site, s I decided on the Nikon P600. Now we spend almost every early morning and evening in the backyard snapping pics of birds I never knew we had in the area.

  Looks like a floor-mounted dip switch.

Or perhaps an old Chevy starter switch. I didn't realize how many of us OLD FARTS are on here. In the 40's cars had a starter button on the dash, now 70 years later they are putting starter buttons on the dash !

Since my wife feeds the birds, we have been getting almost daily visits from this guy. Is it a sharp shinned hawk?
