Within the past week I purchased the sigma 60-600mm lens. After watching many reviews, I kind of got the idea that I didn't need a tripod at this moment but after using it for a few days, I absolutely need one.
What I'm looking for in a tripod is:
-carbon fiber (to cut down on weight)
-ball head included (I'm buying a gimble head next month)
-sturdy (would rather not get a travel tripod, unless they're sturdy enough)
_looking to spend up to $500

Any recommendation are appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

I have a "Oben". Not sure how much I paid. Wasn't cheap however. Don't go cheap, you will regret it.

I have two digital cameras; they are Nikon D-70S and D7200 and both are messing up in manual mode. You can set the exposure fire the shutter and the setting change and you may or not get the picture. Every time you fire the shutter the exposure changes.

The reason I am asking is that; two different cameras are doing the same thing and that makes me wonder if I am the problem. There are so many setting in the camera I may have set up something that is fighting each other. Any thoughts on this matter would be appericated.

When I burn some image I switch to automatic and see what the camera thinks the correct settings should be. I shoot the image then see what the camera used. set the camera to manual setting and duplicate the automatic settings. The exposure should be the same as "auto". Now if it is still messed up I would reset the settings to "factory". Usually that get's me straightened out. I hate to admit it, but Canon is usually best. :o)

I have a Canon 6D and would like to get a remote switch. Canon $51, other brands $11 to $20. Has anyone had experience with non-Canon remotes?

thanks, Don

Take the battery out. Replace with a charged battery, after no less than 1 min turn it back on , set to factory default.

Hey guys..... looking for your highly valued opinions. I've been considering a Canon 24-70 2.8 to go along with my 7D Mark ll. I've mentioned this before and the problem I related earlier was the lack on IS. I've been reading and talking to people about the Sigma 24-70 2.8 ART with OS (optical stabilization) and I'm impressed by what I see. At $450 less than the Canon and with OS it sounds like a very viable option.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks, Danny

Been there, done that. I couldn't tell the difference in IQ between the two camera bodies.(7dm2 or the 5dm4) Image seemed to be the same. So don't waist your money on a "L" lens when you will not see any difference. That very expensive lens needs a "FF" body to work properly. If you go with the 7dm2 get a f4 lens, save your $$$

7dm2 for speed, 5dm4 for IQ.

I agree with Jeep Daddy, although I hope your lens has 'Image Stabilisation' if shooting as slowly as 1/15th.
Most people tend to 'hold their breathe' as they press the shutter button when taking photos.
It's better to breathe slowly two or three times then take the shot at half to two thirds of the exhale. Easily done with very little practice and gives the steadiest shots.

Set up a typical scene. Put the camera on auto, see what canon likes. Then switch to Av or Tv and set your camera to canons auto settings. Now you can make adjustments to the ap and iso and the rest and see what the results are. make adjustments as you see fit..it wont be long till you can make adjustments using one of these prioritys.
