Selling my camera

Have neen a member for a little while now and read the site daily. Lots of good info.
Own a Canon 50D that I bought new. Thinking about upgrading for the last year but cannot decide what I want. A friend just called asking
if I had any older cameras, his older Canon not working and he does not want to spend alot to replace. Thought this might be an opportunity to move on. Does 300 bucks seem okay to sell my unit for? In great shape, 28-135 kit lens, extra battery and travel charger.

$300 is a fair price, made even better for a friend if you include the lens and other items included in the price.

That was a perfect comparison for me. I have a couple additional filters and a 18-55 EFS lens to add to the package. Am trying to decide between the 7DMKII and the 5DMKIV.

I'm not going to do your pricing research for you, but you can get a refurb EOS 80D body from Canon now for $799 plus tax. May be worth considering.

When dealing with good friends, I either give my used stuff for free or far below the market price. But then, reciprocal generosity is the norm within my circle of friends. I suppose this isn't the usual practice for everyone.

Prices aside, it depends upon what you typically shoot. For sports/action, the 7DII would likely be the best choice. For landscapes, architecture, low light shooting, and maybe portraits/macro, the 5DIV would probably be optimal. But a full frame camera requires full frame lenses, so you can potentially end up spending a lot more and carrying a considerably heavier kit with the 5DIV. The 80D that others mentioned is also well worth considering, especially if it would allow you to put more towards lenses.... which will actually make more difference in your images, than the camera they're used upon.

Thanks Alan. I shoot landscapes, travel shots, wildlife, college volleyball and family kids. None professionally. I do have the 70-200 f4 L.
