I got this lens when it first came out. Maybe I was lucky enough to get one of the best ones Tamron made. It is the best walk around lens I have ever had. It is light and never leaves my Nikon D500.
Good action pictures. I lived in Parma fo my first 27 years and went to Parma High before there was a Padua. Graduated in 1960. We were LEL Champs in 59 and 60 and I was a little runt of a center. Thanks for bringing back great memories.
Best advice I got was shoot in manual, set lens to closes setting (opposite of infinity), and physical move in and out until you get focus. Best to use back of camera replay screen and zoom in for precise focusing.
There are so many reviews on YouTube already. Always found Nikon Manuals to handle about 99% of all my questions.
Sometimes it is basic simple things no one mentioned. Whether you have VR on or off while on your tripod. As someone else mentioned using a polarize lens on a lens with this much reach can be a problem reducing light.
If you use UV filters, the Promaster is a good filter. Promaster brand are made by quality manufacturers for camera stores.
Go on line for Apple recycling or trade-in. I have recycled old non working MacBook. They send an email with bar code for USPS to scan.
Saw them at Chautauqua New York about ten years ago. Put on a great show. During The show he told about the resent history of his life. He was very heavily into drugs and alcohol near death and penniless. One day walking around New York he went by, I believe St. Patric's Cathedral, it was one of the big famous churches there. A voice inside said go in side. He did prayed and found God. His addictions left him and he began to get his life together and tour again. Of course he told it a lot better than I could and had many people in tears. If you get a chance, see him in tour. Everyone ,even us old folk were dancing in the isles to "Run Around Sue".
I have this lens and it is a very good lens. Not only have I had great results but it gets high marks from all the ratings I have seen. I use it mostly for macro photos of flowers, butterflies, bugs another small things. I occasionally use it for portraits. you didn't say what kind of pictures you will be taking so there may be better lenses for you. At the beach and fishing you may be mostly photographing wild life which you may need a little more reach.
Might want to also post on Birds In Flight Forum.
I have a good friend who is involved with a wonderful group in Naples and Fort Myers. It is called Team Moose Rescue. The email address for info is: www.teammooserescue@gmail. Its phone # in Fort Myers is: (401)487-9087. They do a great job of finding and getting medical help for dogs. Then they put on several events to get them adopted.
Wooten's is good , but I suggest you hire them for the group. The standard tour is only 30 minutes or so and as someone else said doesn't go very far.
When I retired 12 years ago, I bought my first DSLR and lenses from them and had good nothing but good experience with them . I dealt with a guy named Ray who was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with. As a new comer to the photo world I called them several times for advice and they very nice and helpful.
Thanks Sylvias for the pictures and story of the Tees Bridge. I have several cousins living in or near Middlesbrough U.K. I have been there several times and they have never mentioned it. It is on my must see list next time I visit.
I agree. The telephone poles gives a good leading line into the scene. When they were removed the road then actually gives the leading line. I guess this shows the telephone pools are a more powerful leading line. At least for my personal view. From all my reading I understand how powerful for composition leading lines can be but I don't recognize and use them. I am going to go out tomorrow and practice using leading lines. Thanks for the post that gave me a wonderful idea for my next project.
