#1 has a pixie-ish look, But #1 and #2 are "relatively" unlit.

#3 is the best of the three only because of the lighting.

I have the late 2012/early 3013 iMac and there are no issues at all. Just get a MINIMUM of 16GB of ram.

I was a Mac consultant from 1987 until I retired last year.

I'm serious when I say, "If you want to worry about graphics cards, get a PC."

Any Mac you get can pretty much handle any picture you take.

I'm running a 15" MacBook Pro as my main machine with an external monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I just counted the "active" applications There are eleven apps running and the laptop is just a few degrees above ambient air temperature. I don't remember the last time I heard the fan.

I'm running a bigger monitor now.

Eleven apps open simultaneously -- including Photoshop.

Simply stated, it gives the malware access to your computer. Once in, it can do anything it wants.

Will, I was raped and handled it the best way I could to stay alive, I used my brains.

My position is you should have never been raped either through you defending yourself or someone defending you.

You did not answer my question, either. How is getting raped morally superior to protecting yourself?

Bart, there are those of us who protect others.
There are those of us who need protected.
Then there are insensitive clods like you who, richly deserving of public ridicule and derision, should have been drowned at birth as a service to the community.

I give up on you guys,I really do.I posted what I thought was a funny and what happened? Suddenly you are arguing about gun control and how quick you can draw a pistol.
Lighten up, have a giggle and take it for what it is.
I took the rise out of the Brit police and no one has emailed to say don't be silly they carry a tasar.

That's how I took it and thank you for sharing. Fortunately, in spite of my rampant ADD, I can follow more than one conversation at a time.

Ya know, it's more than protecting yourself isn't it? I'm sure you all have been attacked numerous times and have had to fight off dozens of criminals. You guys really get off on this gun crap, don't you? LOL!

No.

But I was attacked and beaten for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I've had to "show the instrument" twice in 50 years. One was a home invasion and the other was an attempted robbery by a street thug. No shots were fired.

You are welcome to your opinion that I do not have the right to protect me and mine.

But please explain why you feel it is morally superior to get raped than it is to have the ability to prevent it.

You have a white horse and a black horse in the same picture. How do you show the beauty of both?

I bought a 5200 at Christmas. I'm happy enough with the camera and the two lenses that came with it. However, when I started thinking about adding Speedlights, I found out the 5000 series doesn't have "Commander Mode" and needs at least an SB 800 on the camera hot shoe as "Commander".

Anybody wanna buy a very gently used d-5200?

Nope- one thing I forgot to mention- the pattern doesn't show in enlargements (8X10 up)

Here is another shot before and after I did the correction.

Oh Lord! I could write a book on this one. I'll try to restrain myself.

The problem is dots over dots. Whether it's taffeta or not doesn't matter. It's still moiré.

When you take a picture of a magazine image you get (let's say 130 dots (lines) per inch.

Zoom that picture in and out on your screen, See the pattern appear and disappear.

You now have three sets of dots. The original (130 dpi) on an image (let's say 300 dpi) shown on a screen (mine is 96 dpi)

Like Dean Martin said, "That's a Moiré."

To get rid of the pattern, Blur the original. Zoom in until you can see the dots and then apply gaussian blur a step at a time until the dots disappear.

You have now eliminated the 130 dpi from the equation.

Today's inkjet printers print around 5760 dpi. The pattern is lost in all those tiny little dots. (This explains why the moiré pattern disappeared on the 8 x 10)

There's a lot more, but this should keep you from going too dotty.

The original — scanned in at 300 dpi

Gaussian blur . . . only until the dots disappear.

The finished image. Ready for publication.

I used sound as an analogy with my Audio/Visual class.

If you turn up the volume (Aperture) it amplifies what the microphone (lens) picks up.

If you turn up the gain (ISO) the microphone (sensor) picks up more background noise.

i think it was here on UHH.

Someone took a lens from an obsolete camera removed all the hardware from the back, super-glued all the sharp metal and screw holes, and made himself a perfectly usable tilt shift lens.

He hand-held the lens against a digital camera body and had at it.

Worked out pretty good.

I hesitate to expose the innards to bumping and extra dust, but it would not be hard to make a bellows and a holder to take care of the light-leak and lens shaking.

Come to think of it, there's a lens to an old film camera in one of these boxes here . . .
