Hi, all jokes aside, Canary Islands was named after the dogs that lived there. Canary in Castilian is Canarias, from the Latin Can which means dog.

Thank you. Yes, it is a tamron 18/200. I don't have LR, but when I look at the exif file, where it says lens and lens type, it show nothing.
AF works fine, I think, and exposition and ISO also work as they should. That is why I thing there should be a way to "make" the camera recognize the lens.
Thank you again

I purchased a Tamron B011 16/200 mm. lens. I'm happy with it but I've noticed that when I look at the version(last menu tab) I get only the version of the camera latest firmware, and there is not a mention of any lens. I checked with other (Sony) lenses I have, and I get the version for all of them.
Is there a firmware or updater for this lens? If not, Do I miss anything performance wise?
I'll be grateful to now. Thank you in advance for your time.

Hi Jerryc41. Is you lens A or E frame? Because I was asking about
A frame with the LAEA2 adapter. The E frame unit is too expensive for my budget...

Thank you all. Here is my problem; I don't want to sell my 55/210 because it has served me well on a trip I took last year, and I might do it again. I simply don't have the money for a native E mount. So, the question remains , How big a hit on IQ can I expect? I know that using the adapter will bring the F stop down because of the mirror. AF a problem? How much of a problem it would be, or taking 2 or 3 shots might produce a sharp picture. Again I don't do sports, and the children are not that fast, I think.
Basically I was hoping to hear from people that uses the combo, and evaluate my choices...

Hi all. I have the A6000 and I am very happy with it. I have a 18/55 and a 55/210 mm. but I find myself switching lenses very often, with dust coming to my sensor. I have the LAEA2 adapter and I thought to get a 18/200 (Sony or Tamron) A mount because of the price. I just can't expend the money for a native E mount.
My question is I'm making a mistake? What kind of hit I can expect on image quality? I know that the AF won't be as fast but I don't do sports. I shoot landscapes and grand sons, mostly, and I'd like to have the option to go from wide angle to telephoto without changing lenses.
Thank you in advance, and forgive me the rambling.

Hello. I bought it by mistake. I'm looking to trade it for a LAEA2, or sell it. It has been used twice, but I don't have the original box. I have the front and rear covers.

Thank you sebastian

Thank you. The lens I want to buy are "old" A mount Sony or for Sony. The one I really, really want is the Tamron 18/200 Di II A frame. Will it work with the adapter? and is there somewhere a list of lenses that can be used with the LEA3 adapter? I want to retain the AF capability because of my developing cataracts....

Hi all. I'm afraid I did a bu bu. I bought a LA-EA 3 Sony adapter to use with my A6000 camera. I've been informed that I should have bought the LA-EA2 or 4 instead, and that the EA3 will be useless for what I want to do.
My idea was to buy Sony A lenses (much chipper) for my camera, or the Tamron Di II A mount. I also considered some Canon glass.
My question ; Is the "expert" right? And if so, do you know of any place where I can trade the adapter? Any other solution will be welcome, of course.
Thank you in advance

Well, it seams that this adapter will be useless for me. As I said above, my eyes aren't what they were anymore, so I need AF.
As for buying a sony 18/200, it is out of the question money wise. That is why I got the adapter, to use with A mount lenses which are less expensive. Now I'm stuck till I can sell the adapter (to a better informed person than myself) and use the money towards a LA-EA2 or LA-EA4.....unless someone have a better idea?
Thank you all

Hi, thank you for your answers. Jerryc41, I appreciate your post but my problem is that I own the LA-EA3 already.
And, repleo, thank you for the chart. I wish I had it when I ordered the adapter. And my question then is; What 18/200 lens to use on this LA-EA3 to still have AF? Or, do you know of a place where I can trade it for a LA-EA1 or LA-EA2?.
Thank you again

Hi, I got the adapter to use a 18/70 sony A mount lens, but it turns out that it is apparently a manual focus lens. It has the contacts on the back, but when on the adapter it is not red by the camera...Anyway, I had a mind to buy a 18/200 tamron or sony A mount lens, but I'm afraid I don't understand enough all the ins and outs. I did a Google search and the possibilities overwhelm me and, frankly, I'm more confused that before so, if someone of you gentleman/woman can give me some advice I'll be grateful.
To resume; I'm looking for a Amount 18 (or 16)/200 mm. lens to be mounted on the LA-EA3 adapter, retaining the AF capabilities (my eyes aren't good enough for MF) on my A6000 camera.
Thank you in advance

I also own a A6000, and the card removal is indeed a problem. My solution is Cellotape a small "lead" to the card, and the problem goes away. Still it is dumb of Sony to make such a camera, and neglect to place the card slot in a better accessible place.
