To your point that your current equipment inventory meets your needs... I often laugh/get-a-kick-out-of people arguing this point or that about the latest camera announcements from a given manufacturer of how it is missing or "hobbled" by not having this dial, or this LCD on the top deck, or, or, or... ad nauseum. I always think, jee-whiz, a few short years ago PROs were shooting 8, 10, 12, 16 MP camera models and doing their sellable, and great work on models that today people wouldn't even consider buying. I would argue, one can still make professional images on these older models.
I do get that newer models, tech, and especially the addition of video features (from recording modes, autofocus capabilities, codecs, dynamic range, etc.) can make it easier for today's Pro and/or hobbyist to capture a moment or memory (video). But the basic tenets of photography - what makes a good image, a great image, an iconic image is still the same as it was many decades ago. One final thought, the newer tech cameras can allow the user to make/create/capture images that would have not been possible even a couple model generations back; I think of High-ISO vs digital noise, frame-rate capture, autofocusing on a human or animal eye for example, and dynamic range...

Why feel amused... Those folks with the phones who have some photo experience could post their pics on this site and NEVER announce what device created them and I would wager 90% of folks here would not even question the source; there is a lot of compression on internet photos. Most would even admit that even " right now " the quality is good enough ! At the very least, a phone cam should be in the kit and USED for more than phone calls.... Start getting used to it... IT'S coming.
I often use my Samsung S21+ as my back-up/wide-to-super-wide angle lens. As I usually have one of these mounted on my 80D: Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS, Tamron 100-400mm f/4.0-5.6, or my newest addition, the Rokinon 85mm f/1.2 SP (manual focus) lens.
Very nice set! I prefer the final image, but all have their merits (IMHO).

ok now I just have to figure it out. Thank you. If the 20D can, then for Sure the 30D should be able to
True - it does. And so does the 40D...
I have a 40D, a 7D, and an 80D all have BBF available.

Well, I got approved for an Adorama card and proceeded to spend a large sum of money (to be divided by 12 or fewer months)...and I got them to throw in free shipping to match B&H...doesn't save tons, but what the hell :) Sometime next week I'm going to be getting a used Sony 70-200 G2 f/2.8 lens, rated E-. I normally use Tamron or Sigma, but I was impressed with a 70-400 I rented for Oshkosh several years back and I know that I there are some focus and other features that my a99ii is only compatible with using Sony/Zeiss lenses. It's going to be my only native lens in my collection. Someday I want to trade in my a77 for an a77ii, but that will have to wait for a while. I hope I can still find DSLR lenses for the foreseeable future, although most everything new is mirrorless.

I stated it already - but you should also check KEH.com and MPB.com for used stuff too.
You could also look at KEH.com and MPB.com. Both give warranty on their used stuff. KEH does the 180-day warranty on most items. It will be clearly stated for any item what it is when you are looking at a specific item.
Both outfits are very reputable and reliable. Like Adorama and B&H...
Very true! Olympus makes a lot of specialty scientific use stuff: microscopes for example. This is why JIP did not get to use/buy the Olympus name. But officially rebranding to OM Systems makes perfect sense. The announcement, while not seeming to be much on the face of it, should give users of OM cameras/system some peace of mind because a company would not go to that great expense if they were planning to kill something off.
As others stated too:
Just like Konica/Minolta makes copiers and a bunch of other industrial/business use products. Sony just bought the the equipment, tech, patents (think IP), etc, from Minolta.
Love these images and the accompanying history lesson - very nice!
Beautiful ships! Great images!
Nice shots! Looks like you had a successful first outing to Saguaro NP. It is a very interesting place. Thanks for sharing!
Vivid!!! ...and Lovely. Colors are very nice and natural looking to my eye - well done!
Lovely. Can't wait to see more.
I like both images. But to me, the B&W does more justice to the barn and the tree right next to it. Thanks for sharing!

I do agree with this - especially if fast/accurate AF matters ....
I have used the Canon 300 2.8 and 400 5.6 primes - and recently a friend had a Sigma 150-600 SPORT lens for sale - so I tried it out. I have to say it was a great disappointment and I returned it to him quickly. I only tested it and used it at 600mm - and yes, on a tripod and with micro focus adjustment on a 80D.
.
You can't compare a 150-600mm ZOOM lens autofocusing ability against a prime Canon supertelephoto. Both of these Canon lenses you reference focus faster than the Canon 100-400mm zoom too. Not too mention that the 300mm f2.8 is a $4,000+ US dollar lens.
