The articulating screen is what I miss most on my D7000. At our age it is getting harder and harder to get up and down for low position shots.

I agree... I almost didn't buy the D7100 because of it. Great camera, still hate the contortions I have to go through for certain shots... I am at one of 'those' ages also...

When I purchased my D7100, I bought the 18-200 and I must admit, I am not impressed at images in the mid-range, say 50-150... if I could have a do over... I'd go for the 70-200 as I have a 35 and a 50 prime lens.

How many of these photos are post processed?

If you say none or few, then I will be incredibly impressed.

This is interesting. I am fighting this internal battle. I have a Nikon D7100 after having a Pentax K-x. My wife has a Nikon Coolpix P510... she gets far more 'interesting' pictures than I. I can't respond to 'the moment' as she can.

This begs the questions, what are we shooting and why... I would not give up my D7100 for fine art nudes or landscapes, but the things the ordinary person is interested in is better served by a camera that is always ready and easy to set for the moment. I find that to serve two masters one must have the equipment best suited for the job. There is room for both.

At weddings, I take the posed shots and she takes the moment that occurs at the bridal shower. I feel she has the far more compelling shot.

If it's 'art', then the DSLR wins for many reasons... if it's for 'life' I believe the ability to quickly get the shot is the winner.

You can still buy the boxed set, but the updates will be bug fixes only with all new features available though CC. I chose the CS6 boxed set route figuring over the next year I'll find replacement programs...

Warning, it is tough to find the Creative Suite boxed set purchase page. You may have to call sales.

My only problem with Picassa is that after install, the first time it is run it starts searching the either your Documents folder or your WHOLE computer for images and videos. Then you have to go back and hide images that you don't want.

I'd take it more seriously if I could control what directories the first import does.

I took a drawing class in a Graphic Design curriculum at a Community College and was horrible at it... then I took a photography course and my photography looked like my drawings

Maybe it's just my perspective on the world today...

My photography has gotten better but my Wacom Bamboo hasn't seen the light of day in years!
