Shot this last summer in one of Colorado's best-preserved ghost towns...St. Elmo.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Just thought I'd try something a little outside the box for a change.
My daughter is actually standing on a pier on top of a piling thats rises above the pier. Her legs are bents slightly with the back of her jeans at the knee's wrinkled. This gives the illusion that she is standing in the water up to her knees.

That makes it even cooler! Love this shot.

The other day I had seen that some one took a long exposure of their Christmas tree which was on a rotating stand. Well, I have one of those rotating stands also. I am very angry with myself because I did not think of it first.

Then I had a flashback. Oops. I meant an epiphany I know it looks like a finger painting from some ones kindergarten class. This is the best I could come up with. What can I say, my brain's fried. I just thought I would share.

Well, I wouldn't know about those shrooms, 8-) but it is a pretty groovy effect!

have never tried a long exposure. Give the directions/instructions. Ok I'm being lazy and don't want to dig out my manual

Easy, Deanna. Used tripod, AF, moved the lens out while holding the shutter open. I think my settings were ISO 100, F5.6.

Not your old eyes at all. Auto focus. My new lens was focusing on a very small area of each composition. And I didn't use a tripod...sure will next time! Thanks for commenting on my post!

Another shot today. 18-55 lens back on. Same settings but with tripod.

I have never tried to force bulbs in winter, but was given this narcissus bulb as a hostess gift. Thought it would be interesting to capture it as it blooms. These were shot with my Canon Rebel Xti with my new Vivitar wide angle lens with macro...nothing fancy, but learning how to use it.

I had to stare at this for a few minutes. I wondered what season I was viewing...summer green in lower right, autumn leaves on left and what appears to be a wet rock with either a drop of water mid drop or an icicle.

It's certainly a compelling composition. I like it a lot.
