Love those red headed woodpeckers. Great job.
Used 8 Gig 30MB/s cards for years with my D700. Agree with you that I don't want to lose a lot of info, but just got the D-810 and what a memory hog and SLOW to process. I just went to 32 Gig 130MB/s and it seems like it may do the trick. The best thing is that it processes quickly, even through my old USB2 ports
Have yet to use it for macro but did update a week ago from D-700 to D-810. AWESOME. See my D-700 pics in the macro section.
Cell phones take pictures, cameras take photographs.
There is nothing more frustrating than a great camera with a crummy lens. Buy the best glass you can afford, then you have a reason to buy a better camera.
Isn't life beautiful when we look close enough. Great shot and nice looking model.
Great photo. Depth of field is probably less than 1/2 inch at 30 mm up close.
Have you considered a teleconverter on your existing lens?
I have a 1.4 on my Sigma 500 (really worthless because of no autofocus) and a 1.7 on my Nikon 70-200 (Great). If I shoot Dx on my 700 with the Nikon (200x1.7x1.6=544) I get almost as close a photo and much better quality. A quality teleconverter is probably going to cost you $500, but cheaper than a new lens. Rent one and see if it meets your needs.
Have you uploaded the newest update for lightroom raw. Had to do it yesterday for photoshop because they wouldn't read.
Just got mine about an hour ago. I LOVE IT! Great update from the 700.
When I was 17 I wanted a NIKON. didn't know what a Canon camera was.
At 56 I could finally buy my dream camera, a Nikon.
What was your dream?
Just purchased the Sanho iUSBport Hyper+Drive from Amazon for $199.00.
You can control your camera wirelessly or take photos and see them on your iPad almost instantly. Awesome little device.
Attaches cold to your hot shoe, but if you need to use your flash I suggest an L bracket from niceEshop, also from Amazon for about $11.00.
Works with my Nikon 700 and iPad mini ios7
Any questions just contact me.
Used the L bracket to attach both flash and iUSBport
Don't overlook reverse lenses. You can use your existing lenses and get some great macro shots. Visit the macro section on this site for some input.
There is a free program for i-phone/i-pad called LensLab that visually explains depth of field. Really great program.
