just got back from my laser eye doctor. doesn't look good. lost some vision in both eyes. may have to have more hard laser surgery in left eye and shots in my right eye. if it doesn't do any good I will be selling my photo gear

I have Macular Degeneration in my right eye and it is the wet kind.I have had 30 some shots in that eye and it will stop the bleeding for a time but seems to only stop for a couple of months. I don't enjoy the shots but it does keep my vision clear. I thank the Lord daily for each day He gives me my sight because I am like you when it comes to losing my eyesight. I would have to learn how to do other things that did not require the use of my eyes and I believe that would be difficult. I will be praying for you my friend

Click the Down arrow to download the movie

If Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10 does not allow you to edit the movie as required download another movie editor

OK, you got me on the right track. I was clicking the down arrow but I was selecting save file and all that did was save the link that I have posted here. What I ultimately did was to select the Open with: button and then selected Vegas Movie Studio from the drop down menu and walla! Vegas Movie Studio Opened and captured the clip. So, I want to thank you all for helping me out here.

My Thanks to all

That is correct and if you do download you will be able to view the clip. I don't know how to download that clip into a form (mp4 or avi ) so I can add it to my video that I took at the same event

Must be too late. When I remove the s in https:// it just returns when I hit enter. The file is 35mgb in size so I get a message that Google can't scan it. I guess the max is 25 mgb. but it allows me to bring up the clip and watch it anyway. I just don't know how to capture it as a mp4 clip so I can insert it into my video.

Received this clip from my daughter in hopes I would be able to edit it into some footage of the event that I took with my movie camera. She took this clip with her Samsung Galaxy 4 Smartphone. Is it possible to edit this into my clips using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10? Any help will be appreciated

Sorry........I very well may be stepping on some toes here.........In my opinion the two most favorite photos to post here on UHH are:
1. Birds
2. Flowers
Most are very nice photos, but if you're like me, then you might be getting kind of tired of the same old, same old. How about if we try to capture a "new slant" on the same old subject? Let's explore some variations and think outside of the box. Push the limits and edges. Let those creative juices flow. Look at your photos as an ART rather than just a SNAPSHOT.
I'm posting some photos to start this off. If you have some flower photos that you would like to post here on this "NOT your typical flower photos" post, then please do. I think everyone is ready for a creative new approach to the same old, same old. If you do wish to share your flower photo(s) just remember........1 rule: have a new slant on it. Think outside of the box. Let's stimulate the creative juices for everyone..............inspire us! Let that light bulb above your mind go ON!

I like the idea...BUT I would like it even more if you would explain the process you used to achieve these beautiful roses.

Thank you for that quick info. The main reason I bought it was for portrait work, the macro is a bonus for me. I am now interested in experimenting with Macro however. Once again, I appreciate your comments.

I recently purchased a Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 85mm 1:3.5G ED VR. Other side of lens printed Nikon DX SWM VR ED IF Micro 1:1 o52 (o has a slash through it). I just took a close up (Macro, I am assuming) of a group of wax fruit ( not the best for seeing sharp detail ). What would be the primary use for a lens like this? Also I notice that most folks on this site are using 105mm lens. How will I be restricted from taking pictures of bugs and such with the 85mm vs 105 mm? I am also attaching the metadata

Glad you looked at that. I don't understand the difference and how it applies

Put simply - you are running the most memory you can on your XP machine. It's adequate for the programs you are running, albeit slow compared with more up to date computers. If you are happy with your software and it's performance then there is no reason to change.

If you are considering a change then I would do it sooner rather than later - or be stuck with Win 8. (Search the Hog for Win 8 and see the many users who wish they had stayed with Win 7). If your wallet is running over then buy a whole new computer system with Win 7 64bit professional, 8-16Gb Ram and a good graphics card.

You will be pleased with the computer but may be living on bread and water for a month. For real graphics performance upgrade Lightroom to LR4. (You cannot do this on XP.)

I ran with XP for eight years on two computers and loved it, but when the circuits died and I had to replace the machine, Microsoft had withdrawn XP from sale. That will happen to Win 7 but I don't know when.

I really like XP because I am so comfortable with it. I am learning Win 7 as I have it at work. It is a shame that when they come out with new OS software you have to live with so many bugs and much of your software will not work with it. When you consider everythin that has to be changed or upgraded, it is quite expensive

Win7 requires a minimum of 1 Gig of RAM to run and runs best on 2 Gig or more. XP only required that your system have 512 Meg and this may not allow you to open multiple windows or use plugins. If possible, try to increase the RAM in your computer to 2 Gig as a bare minimum. This will not only allow more things to run concurrently, but also reduce the wear on your hard drive for temp files storage and files access. Just a suggestion...
Seems others have already told you how to get around your files and frontend problem.

If your BIOS will allow it, your machine will run even faster if that 2 Gig RAM was increased to 4 Gig. but it's not a requirement under the XP OS. Some older systems need BIOS upgrade through a chip replacements from Phoenix Software while others can be flashed by a download. Without a BIOS upgrade, your system will not recognize any amount of memory above 2 Gig.

That means he also is only running a 32 bit OS. Too bad he can't just upgrade his motherboard and install WIN7-64 HOME. That would allow a larger addressable memory size and speed his system tremendously. Leave the present CPU and video card and just upgrading the MB will also give him a faster internal bus speed on the PCI as well as the USB bus architecture. All for only about $200 or so for swapping out all his 1 Gig memory modules for duel 4 gig modules, a new MB and a new 64 bit OS. The added benefit will be that his hard drive will be accessed only half as much and last a lot longer as well. And he's set for another 5 years or so JMHO.

If only I had the knowledge to do all that, I am sure I could save a lot of money and have a really good machine Don
