just got back from my laser eye doctor. doesn't look good. lost some vision in both eyes. may have to have more hard laser surgery in left eye and shots in my right eye. if it doesn't do any good I will be selling my photo gear

Sight is a important part of life. I think I would look into a second opinion from a doctor at a teaching hospital before I throw in the towel. You may want to look outside the U.S. My cousin, who is a eye surgon, in Albany, NY had part of his training in Munich, Germany. When I spoke to him about going to Germany, he said many procedures are not permitted in the U.S. by the AMA, and he want to be the best, and know as much as possible.

Don't sell your photo gear. The brain tends to compensate after a while. Auto focus, auto exposure, all you have to do is point it in the right direction at the right time.
Carry on enjoying as much as you're still able to do, no need to give up.

I have diabetes and it affects my eyes by bleeding behind my eyes and swelling. laser stops it for a while. have to try and keep my blood sugar down and my blood pressure down (hard to do)

For diabetes try coconut oil. I have Type 2 and a few months ago my blood sugar was measured at 168. My doctor wanted to put me on a different medicine and I refused. I started taking a tablespoon of coconut oil with my breakfast, took greater care of my diet and exercised every day. Three months later my blood sugar was down to a more manageable 130. I have Macular Degeneration in my right eye and it is the wet kind.I have had 30 some shots in that eye and it will stop the bleeding for a time but seems to only stop for a couple of months. I don't enjoy the shots but it does keep my vision clear. I thank the Lord daily for each day He gives me my sight because I am like you when it comes to losing my eyesight. I would have to learn how to do other things that did not require the use of my eyes and I believe that would be difficult. I will be praying for you my friend
