A few questions which only you can answer. Does your current camera meet all your needs? Do you print larger than 8X10? How important is 3+grand to you? Will your current lenses do justice to the pro level camera? Is your desire for the new gear just GAS? Do you sell your work? Will your wife never let you off the hook for "pissing away" all that cash? These are just a few things to make your decision more challenging. Good luck-whatever you decide to do.

Hi boberic well I like to take as good a photograph as possible and have seen some really good results with my present camera but would like more scope that a full frame would give me.

I have seen a lot of people talking about adjusting the colour of the PC screen to match the Printer out put, which is the best way to do this as my Printer is always different to that which i see on my PC Screen

Can anyone guide me as to the best thing to do, I have a Canon EFS17-85mm Image Stabilizer lens that works fine how ever if when walking with the lens attached to camera the zoom just slides out, therefore it is obviously loose can this be repaired at low cost or do I need to purchase a replacement? ( very very small budget)

Hi Donna
I have just updated from E9 to E12 and am well pleased with the results but had I the e11 I think I would wait until at least four years before updating.

Simply put the more pixels the bigger the printed photograph
quote=Thombar]I've got a friend that has several cameras from a 10MP point and shoot to a high end 18MP Canon dSLR. He insists that he can "see" no difference in picture quality between the two cameras and says that manufactures selling higher megapixel cameras are just ripping off the buyer.
I'm new to the world of dSLR's but I can't believe this is true and have tried to explain the difference to him in the quality of enlargements when making large print photos.
Can anyone give me a definitive answer as to why a camera capable of shooting 18MP or more would be superior to a smaller 10MP one. I want to copy your answer and forward it on to him. Any help would be appreciated.
I can't understand why your unable to do all your editing in Adobe 10 it works for me in Adobe 9andCS 6. N]I've taken a picture of our local war memorial (monochrome) and want to edit out the overhead power lines running behind it. I tried using Elements 10 but whenever I open the picture it only shows a colour image so I've reverted to the original raw image in DPP. I've used the stamp tool and removed the wires and O.K'd. the result. In the folder the file has the little 'stamp' logo indicating it has been modified, but whenever I open it up the wires are still there unless I open it via. the stamp tool in which I see the revised image.

My questions are:-

1) Why does the monochrome image open in colour in Elements 10?
2) How do I save my revised image as a separate file?
3) In the stamp tool viewer, can I view the image at larger than 100%. As the overhead power lines pass through a tree I feel I might be able to effect further improvement here.

I might be the author of my own mistake here in so much as I don't get on well with manuals / PC's etc. but any help would be most appreciatted.

Apologies - Just realised I left Caps Lock on when I input the title. The rest of the post was copied and I didn't realise until posted.

And now I've just discovered the edit title box. The sun is shining, can today get any better?
JR1. What is that monster your son has bought? With that sort of power what course is he doing?

What ever it is, good luck to him.

He has done plastering and brick laying and is now doing the Princes Trust because he does not have adequate maths, when he competes this in February he can go back to Plymouth College and do computer programming "games"

The college offers students like him a free computer, but he opted to use his disability living allowance to buy one

Thanks for asking
