Remember the golden rule.... If its something you don't want to lose, make at least 2 copies and keep them in different locations!
I tend to use a combination of several external hard drives, dvd's, laptops and an external server for all my important stuff.

A somewhat racist comment by tlbuljac???
As an "outsider" i.e. non-American, I would have to say that of your two presidential candidates, Obama appears the only credible choice (based on what we get to see in our media).
Mitt comes across like a power-crazed corporate fool who's only interested in self-promotion & profiteering. Do you really want to set him up as leader of the free world???
Here's a 'spanner in the works' for you!
You don't say what kit lens you have (or what kind of photography you shoot) but I suspect it will be the 18-55mm and the 55-250mm standard Canons and you're looking for an all-rounder lens? In tests that I've read, the long Canon out-performs the Sigma on picture quality and there's not that much to choose on actual zoom capability. Soooo.... why not consider Canon's 15-85mm which is a great walk-around lens (I've got one & it never disappoints) & then use the 55-250mm for the few occasions that you really want to zoom in? It also has the added benefit of giving you a slightly wider angle too!!
If money is tight, you might consider the cheaper 17-85mm Canon?
Nos. 1 & 4 work best for me composition-wise but both seem to have been overdone in post editing of green. Seems to have too much of a toxic glow about it!
Nice shot.
For me it would be enhanced by a darker, moodier sky rather than bright & sunny. . I'd also try & get the figure to be a standing one (maybe leaning on the handrail) rather than appearing to be in motion, but that's just my personal taste & interest
How about "Good hair day"?
I've got the Tokina 10-17mm to go on my 7D and am more than happy with it for build quality & performance. Its also a cheaper option than the Canon lens so is definitely worth considering IMHO.
& both are directly proportional to depth of pockets??
Greetings fellow UHH users.
I've recently traded up to a Canon 7D, which I have coveted for some time, and I already have a 50mm Canon prime lens, a 15-85mm Canon general purpose zoom lens and a10-17mm Tokina wide angle lens. I generally photograph landscapes & architecture but I would also like to add a cheap (as budget now very tight!!) higher zoom lens for the occasions when I want to get in close to some details.
So far I've thought about the budget Canon lenses (EF-S 55-250mm or EF 70-300mm) with added bonus of the image stabilisation or a Sigma 70-300mm APO.
All assistance/comments/opinions on these or others would be appreciated
Might even look good as a personalised Christmas card???
It has the look of an old oil painting!
For portability & use with my laptop,I tend to use several portable 2.5" hard drives, varying in capacity from 20GB USB2 to 1TB USB3 types, for photo & music backups and occasionally burn stuff to dvd. I find flash drives generally too small & more prone to fatal crashes.
One rule I ALWAYS follow though is to make sure that I have at least 2 copies (stored in in different locations) for anything I couldn't bear to lose
Great tree - full of character. I would have preferred just that in the shot
Reminds me of a jigsaw I had as a child!
