Nice.

The answer is - learn to edit - this may be the first, but definitely won't be the last image that you feel will need improvement that can easily be handled in post processing. You will find that becoming comfortable with editing an image will empower you and make you a more "complete" photographer.

Thanks, Michael.

Ask your lab about printing on Pearl Metallic paper? My clients that I print for really like the pearl for their B&W, monochromatic prints. I do too. It gives sort of that old, silver halide look.

Yes, Costco used to allow us to download their profile, which I did on my last computer; however, I have a new computer and they no longer do that.
Yes, I calibrate.
Thanks for the message, tho.

I am NOT going to be a lot of help, BUT, there was a past thread about using Costco and the poster had mentioned calibrating his screen to the Costco software and he supplied a link... maybe do a search..
and then another concern would be, is your color calibrated ? You know, are you seeing what is being sent out!??... just a thought, I would imagine you have gone thru all this already!!

good luck

I have a Canon and get great results but can print up to only 13x19. I often print larger than that; hence the need for a good lab.

I bet if you get a Canon Pro 10 and do it yourself; you will be pleased. Larger than 12 x 17 I can not help you

Any one have good experiences getting images printed in black and white? I can do it fine on my home printer, but need someplace to get larger ones done. I tried Costco, but they were very washed out.

thanks

Excellent images. How about passing those tips along?

Make sure you have the navigator panel open. When you hover over a preset the change is shown here and not the actual image unless you select it.

How do I use these. My book says I merely hover over the preset to see what it will do and click on it to apply it. Neither work for me. What am I doing wrong?

Great image. I would love to know how you did it.
Yes, indeed, hang it.

The life of this image began with three dead leaves from an elephant ear plant which was heading for the trash. I just could not let that happen. With thought and insomnia what you see floated through my head in the wee hours. It was worked by no special program, everything was done with an older PSP by itself. It is how I sometimes see things.

I will tick the SO so if anyone is so inclined may do what they will, or better yet how you react to the PP.

Thank you for looking
