Can anyone tell me what kind of hawk this is? It was sitting about 50 feet from my apartment balcony.
I put your sister and her husband outdoors. God Bless him and hope everything turns out OK.
I took a shot at changing the color...it's not perfect, but I changed her shirt to match the color of the ribbon in her hair. I used the color range command in CS5 to pick the different shades of purple in her shirt, which gave me a selection of her shirt only. I then used the eye dropper to select the color of her ribbon and used a brush with the mode set to color and brushed in the new color. By the way, she is an adorable young lady.
This is the best I could do. I applied a threshold operation, using the black, grey and white eye droppers to where it looked presentable. I then applied an unsharp mask and applied a neutral density filter to it. All this was done in CS5.
Using CS5, I did a Color Select of the different colors of the sky. This gave me a selection of the sky, but it also makes selections in the actual picture. I removed the selections that I didn't want in the picture and it gave me a selection of the colors in the sky only. I then made brightness and contrast adjustments. While the sky was selected, I made a neutral density filter of the sky only. I also used an unsharp mask to sharpen the picture and a few other tweaks. It's the best I could do.
This photo is over 40 years old. Taken with a Pentax camera.

I used 'Selective Color' in Photoshop CS5. I first selected the grass and adjusted the hues to give a more realistic green. I then applied a ND filter effect to the image and straightened it up a bit.
Just a bit of PP
Thanks memorykeeper. It's always nice to hear from fellow Hoosiers.
Thank you Photophly for the kind words. The lighting in the museum was mostly studio lights and it was very hard to get an in-focus shot when you hand-hold your camera.
Thank you Photo Guy. I'm sure I'll enjoy this forum.
I am new to photography and found this site and really enjoy reading all the posts and tips about photography. I have a Canon Xs and really like it. I recently went to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio to try out my camera. I never realized it would be so dark inside the hangers. I hand my camera, but came up with a lot of out of focus pictures. Hope to learn a lot from this forum and thanks for having me.
