Great capture. Thanks for sharing.
Saw Rainier for several months while at Ft. Lewis many, many years ago. Your photo of this event is just super.

Maybe bending the topic a bit but here's a message that was on the top of a restaurant menu where I recently had dinner:
"Before you partake of dinner, remember Our Creator who provides us with our Blessings".

Thanks for this site. Very funny. Love it.

I often get the line "Nice camera (D7000) - You must be able to take good pictures with it"

Spikes - Nice shot.

Don - how do you get to your Oregon LH site? I love lighthouses.

Shellback - good pic of Portland Head - been there a couple times. It's my favorite (so far). When you go to the NW, if you can slide up the coast to BC, you'll find a LH that I took a couple years ago after a cruise up that way. (Note: hope it's OK that I posted it).

On a whale watch from Victoria, BC.

Nice shots from the Canadian side. (I'm 15 minutes from The Falls). Did you make it to the American side? Some pretty unique views/ops from there. AND if you really want some unique shots, come in the winter.

Thank you very much Dave. They built a new terminal for cruise ships and it is a stop now for liners coming out of Seattle. Glad you enjoyed the place, you had enough time to do all that?

Our Alaska trip started in Fairbanks, then Denali, then the cruise out of Seward and ended in Vancouver. Then we took a float plane to Victoria and stayed only a couple of days.
Would do the whole thing, with some variations, again in a minute. Thanks again for your photos (all of them).

Victoria the capital of BC. Canada is a great place to visit, great gardens, very British, if you ever have a chance, don't miss it.

Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Visited there after our Alaska cruise a couple years ago.
Great place. In addition to the city and Butchart Gardens, we took a whale watch tour and saw some Orcas. And I got a shot of a lighthouse on the tour with the Olympic Mts. as a back drop. One of my favs. Would love to return.

[quote=skylane5sp]We have this incredible landmark here in Western Washington that I never grow tired of.

I know what you mean. While at Ft. Lewis/Tacoma many, many years ago, I just marveled at Ranier's beauty. Wasn't into photography too much at the time and missed a great opportunity.

[quote=hopthecop]Pass The Banana

Some good info on bananas. Thanks.

When I was very young I tried to start a musical group with the name "BA-NA-NA". Thought I'd get a lot of free promotional publicity from the banana industry.
Another group came a long with the name "Sha-na-na" &
my idea quickly lost uniqueness. That's Life (which is the title of an old Frank Sinatra song...................)

Great shot of the wildlife there. Thanks for posting.
After the park ranger gave us the definitions of "prey" and "predator", our walking tour in Denali Park brought us within a few yards of - a squirrel! I took a photo but I won't post it! Then a bear ran in front of our bus later on.

I recently posted this picture of the mountain, in case you missed it.

Great shot of Mt. McKinley. Very clear. My shot a couple years ago (from a train to Denali Park) was not very good but I was just happy to be able to see this great site.
Thanks for posting.

This lighthouse was first built in 1827. It collapsed soon after. The mortar was mixed with salt water. In 1835 it was built again. This time using fresh water. Nearly 180 years later it is still standing. Over 100,000 visitors were here last year. It is located in Bristol, Maine.

Thanks for these lighthouse photos. Lighthouses are my favorite. And thanks for the info post on Permaquid Pt. LH.
Missed that one when we were in NE. Portland Head is my favorite (although I had a nasty fall with a wrist fracture last time I was there-saved the camera). I found a jig saw puzzle at a garage sale with the same view of your photo. $ .25 - what a deal - of course I bought it. Our tour guide told us that Bug Light was now nick named "Bud Light" but I'm not sure if that was just his joke. Hope you can revisit. Google "Maine Lighthouse" and you'll see a map of the many LH's there.

They are fantastic.
Love picking out the little things that

Brings back the memories of a line in the Kingston Trio's song, "Bad Man's Blunder".............
