As of Oct 2017 Canon still outsells every other camera manufacturer in the DSLR world at 54.7% of the market (compared to 39.1% for Nikon). I think your observation is inaccurate where users of one brand seem to squeak more than others. At any given moment in time, activity like new cameras / significant new lens designs generate noise for a period of time and then the focus shifts to the other vendor with their next release and so on and so forth ....

Well being a Canon user for years, I wished someone would have given me the same time with Nikon as i got with Canon, but since i am invested in Canon now it would not be wise to switch. But i have seen 1st hand the Quality that comes from Nikon an wished i had the opportunity to switch. 54/39 percentage is only that a percentage. How you view your abilities with any brand of camera is the deciding factor you choose. Again personal preference that is my 2 cents. Anyone care to shed some personal preference???

Did you go into VLC options>associations and untick the file types you don't want VLC to open? That's half the battle. The other half is to simply open the program of choice and change the associations in that program to accept the file type you want it to open?

No I uninstalled VLC completely no one said to do what you stated. Now I just have icons representing the Elements12 but no photos as I loaded them into HD.

Hello again: well I have followed every ones advice but I still have the same problem, but a little different. I uninstalled the VLC media player and now all I get are the icons that look like Elements 12. But no photos in the folders. I can't uninstall Elements I tried but Adobe said that if I do I can't re-install on my laptop so I stopped that. Anyone care to help this is getting frustrating. Hal

I installed the VLC media player, but did not notice that all my pictures are now associated with it. So all I see are boxes with mountains in it. Has anyone had this problem and if you can how did you fix it so when you open a folder with photos in it you see the photo. I need help here if anyone one can help. Thanks in Advance Hal
