I love Red River Paper. But as far as ink, I use NOTHING but Epson ink. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY, by ruining 2 nice printers over the years. NOW, I'm NOT even risking an$700. printer to save a couple bucks on cheap ink....J M H O.

Being a boater in Chicago, I can tell you the boat tours are done by November. Actually after Labor Day the tourist "traps" start slowing down. The museums, the theater district and The Magnificent Mile are all great photo ops. If you get nice weather, the lakefront with the museum campus of the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium along with Soldier Field is always a great place to visit. From the North side down to McCormick Place is nice. The Museum of Science and Industry is at 55th St. and the lake. It has a tour of the U-505 German submarine captured from World War II, plus many other interesting displays.

I'd say 90% is a workable limit.

Robert's in Indy is top notch. I've bought a lot of equipment from them. Fair prices and honest photographers. Ask for Ed Sipes.

I don't know about "bulk" erasing memory cards. You can do that in a computer,.. But afterwards, before use, FIRST you should ALWAYS format the memory card in the device(camera, phone, tablet, computer, etc.) you will be using(writing data to) it in. Otherwise it can lead to errors and cause "read" issues.

Hi everyone, I still have the lens and after a bit of a hiatus. The wife had 3 left knee replacements in 18 months. What a mess. I'm starting to make more time for my photography. Lens is still available for a reasonable offer.

Also have a 35' Regal Commodore FOR SALE. The wife can't get on the boat anymore. Oh Well.!

Missed being here.!

I use Transcend SD Cards. They also have a lifetime warranty, which I've never had to use. Did you try the recovery program "Recuva" by Piriform software?

Welcome back Don.

Thanks Ed. It's been a while. Like your avitar. Thats an old Ford Cobra isn't it? Here's a pic of my latest interest. It's an '05. I bought it last January with 13k on it. I hate to say it, but I took this pic with my Galaxy S8 and did no post except a crop. Sacrilegious isn't it? But, I have to be honest, for a phone camera it takes some pretty good shots (and it's a hell of a lot easier to carry around then my 610.) Talk to you soon. Stay in touch.... Regards, Don

We'll let ya get by if you send us some pizza from Gino's. I'd even accept a cheese pizza from Barone's.

Hi Steve. It's been a while....How you doing? We haven't been to Gino's in a long time. That's downtown Chicago. I'm in the southwest burbs and the best pizza around here is Milano's, Benie's or Barraco's. All are exceptional. Plus the beer is ALWAYS Cold!

If I've left anyone off of "the list," Please don't be offended, it is unintentional. Those were the only names I could think of off the top of my head...Hope everyone is well.

With my monopod, which is a Manfrotto 681B, I mount right to the lens ring when using a big lens like my Sigma 150-600 Sport. With a small lens, I usually hand hold it. I don't feel I need a head of any type since there is enough flexibility of motion already there with the monopod. With me, I feel it's just one less thing to worry about. Again though, with my tripod I will use a Manfrotto ball-head either to the lens ring or the camera body depending on the size of the lens. I haven't graduated to a Gimbal yet. I have enough to "lug" around now.
Everybody has their own preferences. Most are determined by experience and the particular situation. Get out there and shoot. Then see what you are the most comfortable with.
