Joe, try your 55-200 before buying...put out food to get them close

You’ll need to be real close with a 200mm ;)

We just got back from a visit to the Netherlands. We timed it perfectly for tulip time. I have a whole lot of beautiful pictures to process but some of my faves already are from our visit to Keukenhof Gardens, 80 acres of amazing tulip plantings. Located just outside of Amsterdam. We did a river cruise with AmaWaterways. It's a great way to go. Great food, wonderful customer service, competent tour guides. Anyways, here's the first of my pics from the gardens.

I added a couple more. Same place.

How beautiful! How long will they last I wonder, we are going to be in Amsterdam on May 15, I think a little too late I'm afraid!

Just had this enlargement (20”x30”) done at my Costco in Dallas, $9.99 +tax...super fun, I change the print frequently whenever I have a new favorite! 😉

Hi all,

I am getting married this summer and we will be doing an Alaskan cruise for the honeymoon. I expect there will be many photographic opportunities and want to be prepared but not (overly) weighed down. I shoot with a Canon 7DII and the following long lenses: A fish eye (I forget what brand), Tamron 16- 300, Sigma 120- 400, and the following Canon lenses: 10- 20, 17-55 f2.8, 15-85, 24-70 f2.8, 70- 200 f2.8, and 70- 300. I have some primes (30, 50, 85mm).

I was contemplating getting the Tamron 18-400 (and selling the 16-300) but wasn't able to get a definitive answer as to if the change was really worth it. Thoughts? Any and all feedback (besides taking them all- grin) is appreciated.

I'm interested in purchasing the Tamrom 18-300 or 18-400 all in 1 zoom lens. Can anyone give me feedback on these as I want to lighten my load when I travel and just use 1 of these lenses and/or my wide angle lens. This is for a Nikon D5300 camera. I welcome any and all suggestions.

Thanks,

David

I have the Tamron 16-300mm (I’m assuming you meant to say 16-300 on your post?) and love it! Great for travel, super light and versatile, it’s always on my camera (Canon T5i)...I also have a 50mm 1.4 and a 35mm 2.8 but the Tamron is my #1, for wide and down to macro!

That lens is a variable aperture lens, you would need a fixed aperture lens to maintain the aperture you want.

My son wants to buy a Nikon P-900 for our summer trip to Ireland and Scotland. The big zoom is the thing he likes about it. The question is...does anyone know if there iis a new model in the works. If so, when? Or, if there is another camera you would recommend for this trip. Thanks....

Canon SX60, a little less in price and it has RAW option...just a little shorter in zoom.
