I'm not an expert but after checking some references it may in the family Calliphoridae. As you can see it is on flowers with an extended proboscis in contact with a flower.
Hand-held Nikon D7100 at ISO 200, 28mm lens reversed, built-in camera flash as fill, 1/125-sec at f/11.
My macro shots are living creatures in their natural environment - no set ups.
Thanks for viewing

Like your jumpers.
I'm just getting started with reverse lens macro. Do you mind sharing what lens you used for these shots and is your flash an on-camera flash with a soft box?
My macro shots up to this point are with a 105mm lens at 1:1. I currently have a 50mm for reverse lens macro and I have a 28mm on the way. I like the challenge.

Once again I have to tell you how much I truly admire your eagle photos. You have very steady hands to get shots like you do. Congratulations...

The loud shutter, "mirror slap," on the 750 not only is noisy but if you pay close attention while holding the camera you can feel the camera move when the mirror is raised. Don't know about you but to me that translates into camera shake and blurred images. For that reason I returned a 750.

I often select on-camera monochrome when I think I might convert to B&W and if I understand you correctly I also get a very different perspective of what's in the frame because I'm not distracted by color.
