for you owners of the d7100 and d750- is the shutter louder on your 750?
Just got my 750 Friday, and I think it is louder than my 7100, not a bunch but noticeable. I know Nikons aren't quiet. Any comments? It is liveable for sure.

I recently purchaSED A D750 Also. At first the shutter was loud; but it does reduce after usage. I have taken about 1000 images and the sound is not annoying. It is similar to my D7000.

Doesn't it have a quiet mode? All my Canons do.

If you need quiet, buy a camera with an electronic shutter. Several of the latest Micro Four-Thirds models are almost inaudible, even in a quiet theatre.

Some digital cameras use an audio recording for shutter sound, and it can be turned off. Check your manual.

it does have a quiet mode, I was just curious if others were the same as mine. It doesn't have to be THAT quiet.

Its not the "shutter" you are hearing, its the mirror.
Your D750 is a full frame camera and the mirror is more than twice as large as the mirror in your crop sensor D7100. Increased noise is normal, and expected.
You want loud? grab an old Mamiya RB67, it will scare off almost anything!

It was NOT a staple of baby photographers... I knew one Nikon and Mamiya guy who used old rangefinder Leicas for baby portraits.

My D4s makes more noise than my D750, D800 or D7100, but boy is it fast.

Old film Pentaxes sound like a car wreck.
