My covid shot was arranged by the school district, and we had to go to a shared site about 50 miles away to get it. I remember them giving me a card, but had no recollection at all of it after that... I searched the car, all my jacket pockets, the nooks and crannies in my wallet where my medical certificates hide out. Nope. Not a sign.

At a pre-school-year meeting, I spoke to the head of transportation, and asked if she could give any help in finding out about it. Within a day or so, she sent me a phone number of someone in the health department, who subsequently gave me an email address for the state government people who do that sort of thing.

She sent me a form, which I had to fill out and send back, along with a photo of my drivers license. It said on the form that it could take 6 to 8 weeks to get anything.

About 2 weeks later, I get this certificate through the mail. It isn't the same as the original (ask me how I know...) but it is a legal document.

Less than 3 hours later, I found the original... It was under the phone charger, and I am sure that I must have had a good reason for putting it there. Oh well...

Back to colonoscopy prep, day 2 *sigh*

Nice image, but not sure about the math... If NGC 5850 and NGC 5846 are 19 million light years apart, it is unlikely that they had a tidal disruption event 200 million years ago. That is almost 10 times more distant than M31, the Andromeda galaxy (2.5 million light years), which is hurtling towards us at a ridiculous rate of speed, but is not estimated to get 'here' for some 5 billion years...

I agree, and have often bought from Chinese companies on Ebay. They must be subsidized or something, as I have paid like $5 for an item, with free shipping, which I always found odd. Anyway, I have no problem buying Chinese, but why is that fact hidden? The LED lights I mentioned above have shipped, via DHL. Clicking on the tracking info, the package is coming from Hong Kong. Not an issue, except for their 'hiding' this from consumers...

They are taking over the world... I recently ordered something from a company ad on instagram. There was nothing on the site to suggest it was not a US company. Then, I get the tracking info, and it is obviously coming from China. Checking the updated info every day, it went through a whole bunch of transit stuff, ending up in Newark, NJ.

It sat there for about 4 days, then all of a sudden, it was "out for delivery". I got the package yesterday, but the return address was a "John Smith" in NY...

Not complaining; it was only a small item and was not an urgent requirement, and seems to be quite suitable. It is just the whole hiding of the fact that it is Chinese which makes me a little aggravated.

I ordered some stick-on led lights from a company called GloRite. When I received notification from PayPal, the name was "GUANG DONG JI NUO KE JI YOU XIAN GONG SI".
I am still receiving daily emails from GloRite...

I had that happen, especially when Amazon started using their own delivery vans... I ended up installing security cameras for that very reason. Check out Wyze, they are inexpensive and pretty good.

Me too - but I hate the way they just cut it off at the end... Would it really have hurt to let the music play out over the credits for just a few more seconds???
