Yes. I've confirmed the issue. It seems to be related to networking. I'm working on it.

It appears that pictures aren't visible to some people. The issue has been confirmed. I'm working on it. Seems like it's related to network routing.

When did the problem start?

I'm rolling back some of the restrictions of the Ignore List.

Going forward, users on your ignore list will be able to reply in your topics. And if you are on someone's ignore list, you'll be able to reply in their topics.

Ignored users still won't be able to send private messages to you. And you won't see topics of the users you are ignoring in Newest Topics, Active Topics, and the digest.

Replying in topics goes back to how it was before the Ignore List feature was implemented.

Sadly, this feature was not used as intended. So no point in keeping it.

Going forward, I'm stepping up the enforcement of the following rule, especially in the Attic:

Insults, profanity and personal attacks will no longer be tolerated.

Here is the best definition I can come up with as to what's acceptable: if a reasonable person would be OK saying this in public, in the presence of their friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and strangers, then it would probably be OK to post it here.

People posting insults or profanity will get their posts deleted. Repeated violators will be suspended.

If you want to help me clean up the Attic and UHH in general, then please use Report Issue link of the post in question to report insults and profanity that you come across.

This setting can be accessed from the "settings" link which is included at the bottom of the digest e-mail message. The link is at the end of the e-mail message, not on the site.

Soon each digest subscriber will be able to specify the time of day at which the digest is delivered.

This is done to prevent people who read e-mail on their smartphones from being woken up with early notices if they have ring/tone/flash notifications enabled for incoming e-mail.

For the next few days the digest delivery time will vary for everyone. It won't be 5AM, but spread out throughout the day.

After that, I'll add the option to specify the hour of the day for digest delivery to your subscriber settings page. I'll post a separate announcement when this option is ready.

I estimate it will take me about a week to complete this transition. During this time, the hour of the day at which you receive the digest might vary.

I'm aware of that. The vertical (scrolling) space is the same. It's the horizontal (width) that's changed.

I also removed one ad unit from the bottom (there were two side by side). And replaced it with similar one that you see at the top.

That way, the total amount of ad space should remain the same, but pages should load slightly faster because there are now up to five ad units on a page instead of up to six.
